Thorny, I remember you saying a while back you wanted to add a small faction for 1.0, but didn't have the time. If you do end up doing that, you should expand on the Final Day faction mentioned briefly in SoC. :v:
Goddamnit, I'm fucking gagging to make a small STALKER rogue-like game. Would any of you guys play something like that?
So I just got through [sp]X8[/sp]. Turned off the game to take a break, 5 seconds later, my tinnitus acts up and I hear this high pitched whine in the same pitch as when a controller is around. I freak out and turn around before realizing what happened. Freaked the hell out of me.
Fucking tinnitus, man. Oh yeah, did I mention you should do it?
So there's no down sides to joining groups in SGM? Won't make me hostile with anybody etc?
Meh, here's Wolf
Kiew is a nice city. Busy streets, many people and a good number of black markets where a soon-to-be Stalker can get all the gears he needs for a hefty price. There were three of us - me, a close friend and another man from Southern Europe - Spain, if I'm correcting, and he was the mastermind behind out whole excursion into the Chernobyl Exclusive Zone. For me and my bro buying guns back in America wasn't a problem, but shipping them to Ukraine could cause problems, so we went with the easy method and set aside our heavy duty shopping for when we hit Kiew. The Spaniard however had been more crafty and had weapons ordered and left in a stash somewhere in northern Ukraine, near the border of the Zone. So we spent the morning shopping in shady alleys and underground bunkers. The prices were suprisingly high for Eastern Europe, the influx of rich and adventure wanting people no doubt influencing the rise in prices. Nevertheless we got two AK-47's and a good bundle of ammo. Since we couldn't exactly walk around Ukraine wielding automatic weaponry, we had the guns sent off to a marked stash near the Zone, just like the Spaniard. Since we weren't going to leave in night, we spent the evening drinking in real Eastern European fashion - vodka and singing in a small pub while a soccer game was playing out in the background. Once the team in blue and yellow scored the whole bar erupted into a mindless scream. America was different from this. The morning started with a nice hangover and me waking up wrapped in a vomit stained blanket on the floor of some Two Star hotel in downtown Kiew, I soon discovered other bonuses this place had - cockroaches and no hot water. After we had a nice drink to sober up we packed up, caught a bus heading north and headed off into the unknown world of Northern Ukraine. Along with us three and the driver, the transport was empty - only an old woman and a teenage girl with a large backpack were up this early. The bus itself was an old ''Ikarus'' and the poor girl had seen better days. When the vehicle hit the dirt roads I had a feeling the whole bus would fall apart. The old woman sitting near us thought nothing of this, as she continued staring at us like we were the spawns of the Devil himself. Sadly nor me, nor my brother didn't know Russian, so we couldn't join in the conversation Spaniard had with her, yet I did understand simple words such as ''da'' - yes, ''njet'' - no and ''blje'' - a single word expression comperable to ''fuck''. The younger woman was sitting in the front and was so wrapped into a novel by Puskin, she didn't even notice our strange atire and countless bags. So after a nice hour of shaking in a rotten tin can we climbed out in a stop called Katja and we began trekking up north to retrieve our weapons. The hardest part still laid ahead. On the eve of the 1st September we finally reached the border of the Chernobyl Exclusive Zone. Now getting in there, if you have no information, is a death wish. Minefields, barbed wire, patrols and watchtowers guard the whole 30 square kilometer area. For a heavy sum you could negotiate with the guards in the checkpoints, but even then you had no guarantee they wouldn't send a bullet into the back of your skull once you stepped into the area. So anyone who had half a brain bought a guide and played it safe. The Spaniard had taken care of this, as we soon met with a man in a dark-brown raincoat who had an impressive shooter on his back - a Dragunov sniper rifle. On its stock carved in were little lines - about ten in total. This was serious shit, and I understood it. Soon the sun came down and night fell over the quite landscape and we started approaching the border. Searchlights started to scan the ground and heavily armed men took up posts in the nearby tower, ready to dispense death on anyone willing to try to breach the restricted Area. And when we were there, crawling through the dirt and light shining over us I understood in what kind of horrible shit I was into. Foot by foot we made our way over the mound of dirt seperating the Zone with the outside world. Since this was a high traffic area the mines were all marked with little flags that anyone close to the ground could see. Even the ground had a nice trench dug into it so you could crawl with a very small wall shielding you from the lights, yet still the sense of dread remained. After we had cut a mile into the area we finally took down our guard a bit and set camp, the guide stayed with us and promised to lead us to a nearby Stalker camp in the morning. So while I was sitting on guard duty, holding my hands out at the heat of the firepit I finally did feel like a real Stalker. And since we could afford new names in here I named myself after the first thing I heard - Wolf. My brother could be Hound. And so we were - two Stalkers, two brothers ready to take on everything this man made Hell threw at us, an unknown future waiting for us.
Can I patch from sgm 1.6 to 1.7 and still have my translation and saves? [editline]03:10PM[/editline] 2 posts till goldmember hnnnnng
Tried to focus on details. [editline]01:10AM[/editline] Automerge killer.
Maybe a small military group from (insert country here) that give missions or shit like that.
The SAS, use the voice acting from Killing Floor and have the best voice acting in anything ever between the two.
Goddamnit, I'm fucking gagging to make a small STALKER rogue-like game. Would any of you guys play something like that?
Hell yes.
Meh, here's Wolf
What's with the grammar and spelling mistakes bro? Good otherwise, as always!
What's with the grammar and spelling mistakes bro? Good otherwise, as always!
I'm in a very bad mood and I have to write in notepad. Can't find the focus. [editline]01:20AM[/editline] Though my spelling checker is showing no errors. [editline]01:21AM[/editline] Meh, whatever, my sentence forming has been very shitty for quite a while now.
I'm sorry for your mood :( Hope you feel better soon.
My parents have recently divorced, my mom is drinking heavly and I had to leave my girlfriend to certain reasons. Nah, it's not going to be good for a while. At least it keeps my mind off Rule 34 fiction.
I'm sorry to hear that buddy. Here and available to chat whenever you need it.
Maybe a small military group from (insert country here) that give missions or shit like that.
Yeah, a KSK team (German SpecOps). I mean, you can give them G36s and Freedom clothes. Hurray for lazyness
Thanks, bro. :unsmith:

What the fuck, don't click this unless you've done all the hunting missions: [sp]Bull. Shit. What the fuck is this fatass in the cloak that is "in the tunnel north of the jupiter plant"? It's fucking impossible to kill, doesn't need a line of sight to use it's telepathic one hit kill thing, has a fucking shield unless it's using one of its attacks which 50% of the time is the "take player's gun" attack, constantly throws objects at me that have a chance of one hitting me, constantly reduces my stamina to 0, constantly rips my gun out of my arms (the advice I was given was to keep my stamina high so it couldn't, but it reduces my stamina to 0 then rips it out of my hands anyway), and constantly fucking pisses me off. How the hell do you kill it?[/sp]
Shoot it at medium range while leaning behind a wall, as soon as he starts shielding himself stop shooting him
Knife it. [editline]01:54AM[/editline] And it's called a Burer. Check the Stalker wikia.
@Thorny You should make a MUD instead. We'll finally have the STALKER MMO we always wanted. >You see a snork >shoot snork >you take careful aim and fire at the snork with your rifle >you hit for 68 damage. >The snork chokes out a gasp and dies >look >Western Zaton, Oakpine Anomaly Radiation has caused this tree to form extremely strange growths, not to mention the chemical anomalies underneath. There is a dead snork here. Zhenka Fisherman is here, moving to the east >available directions: east, west, north, south, up (scale the oakpine), down (anomaly pit) >equip detector >you pull your Bear Detector from its pouch and flip open the cover >down [editline]04:00PM[/editline] I would gladly help write something like that. I can't code though.

Well, I wrote it quickly. The actual flavor text would be much larger/more descriptive.
A paragraph describing the trajectory of an individual bullet. MUDs are lame, except Hellmoo.
When you buy something from him that is over 3000RU MONEY MONEY MONEY
Now I'm imagining the gas mask guy going at a bloodsucker shouting "YOU'RE ALL FUR COAT NO KNICKERS, BITCHES."
A SoC theme would be better for a MUD, since the areas are better defined. Army Warehouses, Abandoned Village This farming village, long since left to rot, lies west of the road leading through the Army Warehouses. The fire here provides some light. It is 22:00. It is dark. You hear a growl to the west. >look w It's too dark to see. >turn on headlamp You switch on your headlamp, providing a meager cone of white light. >look w You see Abandoned Village (west) A dilapidated barn and brick water tower stand here, looming in the darkness. There are 2 corpses of Freedomers here. There is an electro anomaly here. >go w Abandoned Village (west), Army Warehouses You stand between the old barn and the water tower. There is a fire lit inside the brick tower, casting flickering light out of the doorway. It is 22:15. It is night. Exits: North(barn), South, East, West (tower) >go N The entrance to the barn is blocked by electro anomalies. A bloodsucker appears! It got the drop on you. The bloodsucker attacks! With a chilling roar, the bloodsucker claws your torso, cutting through your Stalker Suit like tissue paper. AAARGH! Your torso! [60/100 HP] You are bleeding. It's not serious. You raise your sawn-off and fire. The report momentarily deafens you. You hit the bloodsucker, but about half of the pellets miss. You fire the shotgun again, taking advantage of its fire rate. You hit the bloodsucker dead on! Its roar becomes a rattle as it falls to the ground, dead. You gained points in Shotguns! You gained points in Mutant Hunting! >status Your health: [55/100]. You are bleeding a little. >use medkit You pull out an orange medkit and begin treating your wounds. Whew! Your bleeding seems to have stopped. You gain 50 health. [100/100] >search bloodsucker You find nothing on the bloodsucker. >butcher bloodsucker You cut the tentacles from the bloodsucker's face and, wrapping them in string, place them in your pack. >go w You walk into the water tower.
I mean a command like this for the source engine. -heapsize 733696
X-ray doesn't have that.

Does anyone know what Stalkers say when they are about to execute a downed enemy? Would be interesting to know.
