Nimble only dies in CoP if you don't [sp]clear out the bloodsucker hideout. If you don't they raid the shadovsk and kill everyone.[/sp] That doesn't necessarily mean he dies, but he probably does...

I just stupidly charged head-on into the bandit base in SGM.
After a long dual between me with my SIG 220 sidearm (ran out of ammo for my Abakan) and the leader in his exo skeleton he was finally killed.
By a zerg rush of snorks.

1. Avoid fighting Bandits in the Garbage unless you REALLY, REALLY have to.
2. Take a detour through Dark Valley while coming to the Garbage the first time.
3. Don't join any faction except loners unless you finsihed the part when [sp]Strelok & Co. escape to Limansk[/sp] because there is a slight chance that your progress may be hampered by the opposing faction.
4. Save up some cash for Veles Detector and use it to collect rare artifacts for loadsa money.
5. Don't go to Limansk unless you're sure that you want to finish the game's plot.

He's died a few times in SoC for me.
Nimble tends to die in SoC if mutant packs or Military stalkers attack the rookie village.
