Calk, are you sure you applied the patch correctly?
Yep.
Hey, modder question, where in gamedata could I find the files for the face pictures used in conversations in SoC? I wanna try a simple edit.
I'm on a mac :v:
Steam is on mac too you know :v:
Screw Steam!
Screw Steam!
Mkay, also that didn't work. It still crashes, when trying to get the Fort or the AK.
Fuck. Ok, let me fix it.
5.45 Groza
Whoa, what?
Whoa, what?
This one guy in the duty base in Rostok has a special Groza(Tunder), which is modified to accept the 5.45 Warsaw Pact rifles caliber. You can only get it if the said Dutyer dies or you kill him. HOWEVER, you can also buy it from Sidorovich at the very start of the game, but only if you didn't finished the first quest.
Whoa, what?
Uh, yeah?
There... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9167432/reduxpatchCOMEONPLEASEWORKTHISTIME.7z

It's all to do with removing weapon upgrading - because the AK and Fort are modified with upgrades by standard, the game is shitting itself when it can't find them. This SHOULD fix it. [editline]04:31PM[/editline] fffffffffff merge
Whoa, what?
In Oblivion Lost (and perhaps a few other mods), at the beginning of the game, Sid sells a 5.45 Groza. It's 35,000 RU, so you'd have to do a lot of quests. I'm not even sure that amount of money is even possible in just Cordon, though, unless he meant after returning to Cordon. [editline]0[/editline] Apparently it's in vanilla, too. :v:

You can't finish the first quest, or it'll disappear from the inventory. Most likely it was left there by devs for testing purposes, to have a fairly powerful gun at the start of the game.
I've played SoC so many times with mods that I wasn't aware of this D:
Me neither, it was my second time in the Bar when I saw him getting mauled by the dogs on the Southern entrance. So I came over there to loot his body when suddenly HOLY SHIT AWESOME WEAPON. I used it until X16 when it jammed every 30 shots. It is only worth it for the grenade laucher and lighter ammo IMO, it's 20 round magazine makes it a less useful weapon in my book. [editline]05:37PM[/editline] Also, weren't there like three Warrant Officers in the game? That guy with the 5.45 Groza, the dude in the Garbage, and another one which hangs around Wild Territory & Bar and uses the AN-94.
SUCCESS THORNY, IT WORKS. Great work buddy.
Shit, just got a fun idea. I hope my paint-fu can accomplish this.
So I walked outside the Skadovsk, where I was instantly met with at least twenty grenades to the face. Zombie outside the skadovsk with a bulldog-6. Thanks Thorny!
If you're using winRAR, just open the game folder and try dragging+dropping the 'gamedata' folder in there.
Yep, that did it. Thanks.
Hey guys, I'm getting ready to make a trip into the Dark Valley to get to the lab. Any recommendations concerning what rifle I should take? I switched my modified AK-47 for an Abakan, but it's not too late to buy it back and if I'm heading into hostile territory I need a rifle I can rely on and I know I'll be able to scavenge ammo for if the situation gets dire. I would carry an MP5 (Oh, sorry, I meant a Viper) as a backup weapon but the weight limit is fucking me over. tl:dr = AK-47 with increased firing rate, or Abakan?
So I walked outside the Skadovsk, where I was instantly met with at least twenty grenades to the face. Zombie outside the skadovsk with a bulldog-6. Thanks Thorny!
How can he aim that thing without blowing himself up? Which makes me wonder, why are the zombies so accurate? I mean, their agility, strength and every thing a man is supposed to do have been drasically reduced, yet they can still fire a nearly completely broken AK-74 in full auto from the hip and hit me more oftenly than Monolith Experts. After the first few bullets their aim should make the gunfire scatter all over the place until they let go off the trigger and adjust their aim again.

my paint-fu was not sufficient :saddowns:
I still can't decide, whether I want to join Freedom or Duty. :argh:
