S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: If nobody will make it I will

Like 95% of the time yes. Especially with bigger mods.
Which one contains the new mutants though? I'm hearing C2009 and Oblivion lost contains you being able to join any factions outside the storyline, I'm thinking of going with C2009, The only thing though is thats keeping me from using C2009 is the fact that I don't have no new mutants.
STALKER completly supports my screens.. Eyecandy galore. lol
:sigh: I think I've run into a bug. In the Army Warehouses, I [sp]decided to side with Freedom. I warned them of the attack and was told to report to Max. I did, and we've gone to go take out some Duty guys. Anyway, after killing them all nothing happens, I stay on the objective "eliminate Duty" despite the fact they're all frickin' dead. Any ideas? I've played through it about five times now and I can confirm there are no other Duty in the vicinity.[/sp]

What about wounded?
What about wounded?
I gave 'em all a cap in the head just to be sure, and as I'm running Oblivion Lost they tend to die after being wounded if left unattended.

That missions can go quite wrong, I wouldn't do it or at least not intervene between the fights. The missions can be pretty dangerous and is bugged. Sometimes it says Kill Lukash and he already kicked the bucket.
Ok, I downloaded CoP and SoC today on Steam, and I'm a bit lost on what to do. I did the first mission for Wolf, and I'm wondering, should I wait a few more missions to try exploring, or would I be fine going off on my own already? Also, do dogs attack you? I saw one and tried to shoot it, but it just ran off. However, when I was going back to town after the mission, I saw at least 5 dogs, and heard one growling. Any advice for a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R?
Stay in Cordon for a while. Get some stash infos from dead bodies, then pick them up. Sell guns and artifacts, gather some ammo and watch out for dogs and boars. Also you find random anomalies spread all over the place.
If you have some decent gear, move on to the next area.
Dogs generally won't attack you if they're on their own, however if they're in a pack they'll probably try to kill you. You don't have to kill all of them, just enough to scare them away (although once you do hear them start to whine and see them retreat it's advisable you move on quickly).
Also, don't go too near the checkpoint or the Army will massacre the rookie village.
Oh, also buy the pistol the trader has to replace your shitty old one. And find the Merc suit in the Rookie village, it will help you a lot.

I'd explore all of cordon before moving to garbage. Don't go to the military outpost though, they will murder everybody in the village.
Avoid the military at all cost and don't stick with the sawn-off shotgun, it's utter shite.
this thread seems to be
A. discussing mods
B. dumb rookies asking for advice
C. dumb rookies asking which mod is better and getting dumb responses because all the mods are good

Does anybody remember the clear sky mod that FalcoLombardi (if that was his name, can't remember correctly) was talking about? Was it called Faction Fronts?

People discussing STALKER in the STALKER thread? Shit!

The dogs you saw are fairly weak, and will rarely attack outside of a group. Later on, you'll have to worry about Pseudodogs and Chernobyl dogs, but for now, dogs aren't much of a threat, only shoot them if they come at you. And if you want, you can leave after you get the second mission from Sidovirich. Make sure you search the entire camp for items, there's supplies littered through out. Especially make sure to find the artifact in the basement of the farthest building on the left. It's the same building Nimble is in.
Also, if you want to get a Merc Suit early (much better than your leather jacket) on the building behind Wolf, climb up the ladder, but don't go inside. Instead, crawl on the ledge around until you can get on the roof. Then, run and jump onto the roof of the farthest building on the left. Go on the right side and look through the huge hole in the wall. If you look, you should see a crate. Shoot it until it breaks and drops the Merc Suit, then run to the back of the roof. There should be a hole in the wall there, albeit much smaller. Crouch there and edge around it until you find the Merc Suit. Also, I highly suggest going to Nimble for a side mission called "Find the Protect Suit". (Or something like that :v:). To do the mission, go back to the Bandit camp at the first mission, and you should find a dirt road going the direction of the bridge. Go up the road, but be wary that there is a large pack of dogs, and there might be a pseudodog or flesh there. You should get to a train tunnel. Inside the train tunnel is a pseudodog. Kill it, and run to the northeast corner, where you should find a Merc suit. You can keep it (although, I wouldn't as you should already have one), sell it (you get a decent amount for it), or give it to Nimble for an artifact.
Also, I highly recommend killing the soldiers at the bridge outpost to get a unique Fort-15 as well as several AKS-74s early in the game. However, don't rush them. You need to go up on the bridge and shoot from above. They won't go after, they'll just shoot blindly at you. You can get up there three ways:
1. Pay the closest soldier 500 RU. He'll let you go by and you can up the hill and onto the bridge through a space in the fence. Not recommended because 500 RU is kind of a lot in the beginning.
2. Run through the tunnel to the left. It's filled with a Lightning anomaly, but halfway through you can tuck behind a stove where you're safe from the anomalies. Heal up there, run through, heal again, and then go up the bridge from the aforementioned hole in the fence. Wastes supplies, but if you fully loot the outpost, you'll get back all your medical supplies and more.
3. Run up the hill from the side facing the camp. Didn't know about this until recently, but a part of the fence you can jump over. However, you have to be sure to crouch jump, and it can be somewhat frustrating to find the spot.
If you successfully kill them all, get down to the outpost. Loot all the bodies and metal boxes. There should be a shit ton of vodka, as well as some bandages, and an Army medkit. There will be plenty of ammo from the soldiers. You'll find an AKS-74 on each of them, take all of them. One of the soldiers will have a unique Fort-15. AFAIK, you can't sell it, but it's much better than your Makarov. Return to the trader, keep the best condition AK, and sell the rest.
I can't run CoP, fuck.

Well considering that the new Steam Sale attracted new stalkers, they can get some advice and help in this thread. So that they can join in our stalkerranks.

Yeah, this thread is our Rookie Village.
For fun when I'm bored I'll attract the military to Cordon and start a gunfight. I also use it as a way to test my weapons.

Well you shouldn't have a problem with rookies in this thread because they wont have anywhere else to go except the subforum for help.

I'll make sure to never ever ever ask for help or discuss the game this megathread is based on ever again. I'm extremely sorry sir.
EDIT: Automerge
Magic is sort of right. Because of the sale we have a lot of rookies. But we must remember the time when we were rookies. The time when we freaked the fuck out when we saw the controller, or when bloodsuckers were still scary.
As the stalker thread is left dying and bumpless we need the rookies more then ever to found the future generations as the Veterans stop playing.
So next time you see a rookie wandering around the cordon, scared of the bandits at the factory, just think, 'that was me once'

Im questioning the fact that they need help playing Stalker. I started on rookie in 2007 when the game was buggy as fuck but I actually learned how to play and play on master and veteran and shit. It seems like people buy stalker because of Facepunch, which is a good thing, support the devs and all, but they act like "Hey, I just bought this game you're all talking about. What do I do now??? Which mod do I download???" I havent looked at the past few stalker thread so maybe its change but I swear every other page I'd see "any tips on the beginning of stalker? Fuck vanilla I heard that shit is horrible what mod???"
I understand asking for tips but, fuck, go back a thread or two and actually read responses to others.
Woah, thorny only has like 30 hours on record for CoP....... and he still made a mod.
