Ok, so. After fiddling with the scripts, I'm not crashing at all in Redux! Played a couple of hours, lots of combat in Zaton + Jupiter, no crashes. Tried Uncle Yar's mission, he for some reason engaged the zombies, but it didn't crash. Eventually he died, but still no crash! So, I think I'm pretty much ready to begin the final preparations for release :)

I dunno, time of release is really determined by how long it takes to upload the files, and then when ModDB authorizes them. [editline]12:12PM[/editline] I'll probably start uploading tomorrow sometime, then put the article up for authorization straight away. [editline]12:13PM[/editline] I still need to make the installers, finish the ReadMe file, finish the news release, write the download page, etc.
And you need to fix Yar dying. :colbert:
Well I think that's because I got pinned down by zombies while he went off to the attic of the house, then must have got killed there.
How did Yar got killed, anyways? Doesn't he have the most health for a human character?
Dunno! [editline]12:22PM[/editline] Also is anyone good at maths :( What does this give? item:set_condition((math.random(40)+40)/100)
0.8? If it's 40+40 divided by 100.
Goddamn I wish I could remember how that worked now >_>
It'll give a random value between 0.4 and 0.8.
What should I do to get a value between 0.1 and 0.9?
item:set_condition((math.random(80)+10)/100) Probably. I don't actually know Lua but I do know like 4 other languages so if it works the same as normal then that should be right. [editline]09:54PM[/editline] Apparently this works too item:set_condition((math.random(10,90))/100)
Thorny, could you make the dogs a bit harder again? They're too easy, you can just pump their faces full of lead and not worry about a thing. Before was way funnier, when every time you heard a dog you shat your pants and started looking for things to climb.
I have, a bit :)
Great, thanks!
[QUOTE=Blaberry;24432559]Before was way funnier, when every time you heard a dog you shat your pants and started looking for things to climb.[/QUOTE] This pretty much.
First everyone complains about dogs being OP in Redux, then they complain they aren't powerful enough. v:v:v
Yeah, now I get the Expression : !m_error_code Function : raii_guard::~raii_guard File : D:\prog_repository\sources\trunk\xrServerEntities\script_storage.cpp Line : 748 Description : ... - call of pripyat\gamedata\scripts\xr_danger.script:137: attempt to index field 'actor_active_item' (a nil value) too [editline]04:20PM[/editline] I never said They were too strong :saddowns:
I think/hope that's fixed for the full release.
I do too, since I can barely start the game, in like one out of twenty times it works...
I don't understand how I'm supposed to merge atmosfear with SGM, seeing as how atmosfear is a setup file, and not a gamedata folder.
[QUOTE=Shuzup;24434239]I don't understand how I'm supposed to merge atmosfear with SGM, seeing as how atmosfear is a setup file, and not a gamedata folder.[/QUOTE] it just extracts a gamedata folder, make it install it somewhere else.
[QUOTE=Shuzup;24434239]I don't understand how I'm supposed to merge atmosfear with SGM, seeing as how atmosfear is a setup file, and not a gamedata folder.[/QUOTE] Take the SGM folder somewhere else, install atmosfear, snatch atmosfear's gamedata from the game folder, and start merging.
Alright, so I'm comparing them now, but I'm not actually sure what I should be doing. How would I go about merging them, exactly? I don't know where things should be replaced.
Things that are necessary for the full functioning of both mods need to be preserved. E.G inside bind_stalker.script within gamedata/scripts. Use WinMerge to compare the files, it's pretty self explanatory.
I'd prefer if someone merged all the necessary files themselves, and maybe I could use winmerge on that to check the differences and what needs to be replaced. That way I'm still learning how to mod, without having someone else do everything for me.
Got the combo deal on a 'meh, maybe it's fun' thought, and I have to say, Stalker is more fun then I would've thought. Also had my first pants-shit moment today. Was playing CoP and at the Dredge Station to get the artifact for Beard. I walk out, the guy talks to me, I play dumb. He stands there, I shoot him in the head. I walk through the shed on my way off the ship and OH HOLY SHIT SOME GUY WITH A GUN IN MY FACE SPRAY AND PRAY TIME! After killing him, some other guy appeared who went down a lot easier. Found out later that if you refuse to give him the artifact, he and the 2 guys ambush you. Good times were had, though.
Take a look at this: [url]http://sdk.stalker-game.com/en/index.php?title=Merging_mods[/url] [editline]04:13PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Sir Whoopsalot;24434656]Got the combo deal on a 'meh, maybe it's fun' thought, and I have to say, Stalker is more fun then I would've thought. Lots of ways of getting tasks done.

I went talking around to other people and found out you can tell a Stalker, prompting him to set up an ambush. That's probably what I would've done if that happened to me (assuming I didn't die or shit myself out of terror), but still, a nice touch.

You can go along with the bandits and ambush the unsuspecting Stalkers, or tell the Stalkers but not set up the counter-ambush leading to the bandits finding no-one in the ship, OR you can set up the counter-ambush and get friendly with the stalkers. It's really cool.
