I'm up to the point where I have to gather a team in SGM and the horrible fps is killing me. I'm just wondering if it would be ok if I stored it elsewhere and played Redux for a bit. It's just gamedata folder, user.ltx and the saved games, right?

Try [url=http://www.mediafire.com/?eoukyzlylyj]this mod[/url]. Since -noprefetch doesn't work in COP, this disables prefetching for either almost everything (recommended) or EVERYTHING (lol stutter). It helped with my RAM problems in PRIPYATAN, and definitely improves FPS.
I'm loving redux so far, though I think karma is catching up to me. After many hours of wanton murder of innocent stalkers for food and medkits, I find myself being killed INSIDE Yanov Station by this one angry Duty member.
I feel unfaithful. I haven't played STALKER in a while.
I gotta agree with the others above about Clear Sky, it was my first STALKER game and while it did have it's flaws I loved it to death.

It's such a strange feeling to not care about an incoming blowout. I had marked by the zone and while I was looting corpses a blowout started coming. I didn't really want to run all the way to cover so I just decided to sit around. It felt weird to not care while the stalkers were screaming over the radios about impending doom. It was a nice light show though, even with vanilla graphics the sky looks awesome.
