Kotick would tell him he's not charging enough.

If Rotion didn't get on Steam, you have no chance in
HELL

to be honest, Elf Bowling: Hawaiian Vacation got on steam, so if he gets his lazy ass act together it might have a chance.

If rotion didn't get on Steam, no game can get on Steam.

have you considered that it didnt get on steam for reasons other than the game wasnt good enough?
I held off on calling this a ridiculous amateur kiddy-style first game in my reply on the first page...
This is a ridiculous, amateur kiddy-style attempt at a first game, and you have almost no idea what you're talking about.

I think he has a lot of idea and potential. I mean, he is going to make a half game, sell game, sell many dlc for 1$ then buy ork kit, make the game, sell game, sell dlc. Most developers don't think of sales at first, and that's why they fail. OP thinks of all of it, so he has a bright future.
I mean, who needs a stable idea for a game when you got a distribution plan.
Read the last sentence.
ah.
OP just doesn't get it does he. Wow.
What I meant before was that using a free engine and selling it for money just sounds a little off putting to me - it looks like it lacks basic features and that he is thinking very far ahead.
Hey dude,
Dont let these foulmouths pester you, you will have no problem executing this, just stick with your initial plan and make the game, then slam it on Steam, Desura, GamersGate, Impulse, D2D and whatnot, maybe even get a Publishing Deal for retail, they are all just mean because they had too much jelly for breakfast!
As you said yourself, it's totally easy to make an AAA title with attitude and knowledge like yours, you should get this done in no time!
Keep it up, looking forward to the outcome of thsi project.
To all others:
Fuck yourself you dont know how this buisness works, learn how2code before trying to give advice, ok?!

you are really getting in character for this aren't you
This is turning already into shit. You're focusing too much on money making which isn't the whole point of making games unless your Activision.
No offense but I wouldn't pay for a unity game.
You wouldn't pay for WARSOUP?!

It even has animations by the dance fortress guy. Come on.

Well, you probably wouldn't sell it without the pro version. Also Unity Free is pretty full-featured except for the lack of real-time shadows and such.
Super Meat Boy and Castle Crashers were both made in flash.
No. Meat Boy was made in Flash, Super Meat Boy was coded in either C# or C++. Castle crashers was drawn and animated in Flash but coded in C++.

Unless my Activision? Sweet, I am now an Activision.
Also, you will be hard pressed to get this on any kind of retail or digital distribution store. Unity games just aren't what they look for unless it is something spectacular. All I can say is don't focus on getting it sold, produce a game that is fun, use it as a learning experience. Add it to a portfolio or something, but for the love of God don't expect to make a quick buck off it.
This sure went far. Great to see another great contributor to the gaming world.
I know I hate to bump this, but you do seem to be interested in game development.
I highly suggest you jump into something easy like UDK, it's simple to use and has a lot of great features. Don't listen to anybody who tells you it's a shitty engine, because it really is great if you learn how to use it properly.

Looks like a mix of Call of Duty and Halo.
Incorporate nightengine. After that, even the fecal matter in the game looks like golden graphical achievements of wonderful extremities.
Unity and Game Maker aren't even comparable.
You are basing your opinion of the engine on some random pictures created with standard assets with only the most basic 3D effects enabled.
Check the browser games http://www.interstellarmarines.com here out, they give a small taste of what Unity is capable off.
It may not be as good as UE3 or CryEngine 3, but it's definetly one of the better engines out there (and more affordable ones).
UDK is free how is that not affordable?
Looks like a mix of Call of Duty and Halo.
Except it's an RTS game.
UDK is free how is that not affordable?
UDK is only free for the first $x earned (I forgot what x is). Then you have to pay licensing fees.
UDK is free how is that not affordable?
He said UE3. UE3 and UDK aren't the same thing. UDK is "free". UE3 is not.
OP Backed out and got scared ?

They're both the same engine, so I don't know how you work that out, you wouldn't have a UDK without UE3.
UDK is only free for the first $x earned (I forgot what x is). Then you have to pay licensing fees.
Which by then should be affordable. Anyways OP shouldn't even try to sell a game before making something first for free.

I think it's $15 000
I think it's $15 000
