My guess is they knew modders would take care of it. And Bioware wouldn't get so much heat from doing them themselves.
It's not AO, if it was you'd of never bought it. From Wiki: AO contains content that is considered unsuitable for people under 18 years of age, and cannot be bought by anyone below that age. These may include adult video games that depict sex and nudity and/or extreme depictions of violence that include blood and gore. As of 2009[update], there have been twenty-five products which have received the rating, most of which are available on Windows and Apple Macintosh computers, as well as the CD-i. The AO rating is the subject of ongoing, heated controversy due to the extreme restrictions it places on game sales. Most of the major video game console manufacturers (such as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) strictly prohibit the release and sale of AO-rated games on their consoles. Games from major publishers that receive an AO rating are often 'toned down' in order to gain the lesser rating of M such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Manhunt 2. Basically you'd of have a very hard time finding the game anywhere if it was AO. After reading some more I found this: The identities of the ESRB raters are kept confidential and selected randomly from a pool of full-time ESRB employees who live in the New York City area. According to an ESRB introductory brochure from 1994: "The raters represent a wide range of backgrounds, races, and ages and have no ties to the interactive entertainment industry. Raters include retired school principals, parents, professionals, and other individuals from all walks of life." In essence allowing people who aren't regular video game players, to review games as if they were the customer and receiving their first glance at the game. They are then required to take testing before becoming ESRB raters. Is the problem
Damnit are there any mods that allow elves to have beards? I want to make a bald elf but he looks so dumb without some sort of facial hair.
I cannot fucking believe this game got a 5/10 in Edge magazine. Was the 360 version, but still.
Then they are stupid.
Then they are stupid.
Damn straight.
You should see the metascore raters for some "stupid". Quoting from GameCentral:
CONS: The fantasy world is sadly generic with an often risible script. Weak graphics and lots of minor bugs.

You should see the metascore raters for some "stupid". Quoting from GameCentral:
But GameCentral is canned pony shit that nobody gives a flying fuck about. On a completely unrelated note, I'm having DLC trouble. I have the Lucky Ring or whatever it's called, Sttone Prisoner, Blood Dragon armor and Warden's keep. None of these want to download. I got them after I bought the Digital Deluxe edition through steam. Also, the DLC has the version "1.0" in scary red ont, which is probably my problem. No idea how to fix this shit, help me Dr. Facepunch. :(
Seriously I need a beard on this elf or he is going to look like a gigantic faggot.
Elfs are beardless pansies.
Just saw this in the steam sale and noticed it was from BioWare. After enjoying Mass Effect so much and I fairly like oblivion, is it worth getting for £22? I take it conversations work like they do on mass effect, you get to chose what to say etc.

Isn't there apparently a hidden [sp]High Dragon in Orzammar? Behind the throne room, I think, there's some secret way to open the door to it.[/sp] Or so I've heard.
This has probably been said a million billion times before, but the title/launcher music of this game is hauntingly beautiful.
Seriously I need a beard on this elf or he is going to look like a gigantic faggot.
Elves are gigantic faggots.

I'm not very far into the game -- I got the elves to agree to the treaties and am meandering about Denerim before deciding whether to go to Orzammar or the Tower next -- but it's incredible fun. Especially since I accidentally made myself an Arcane Warrior. It was a happy accident, though: it seems far more fun than the other mage specialisations. I might go back and get the remainder of the Juggernaut armour before I carry on with the treaties, since I only got the breastplate because I didn't mess about with the gravestones and just did the ritual.
Anyone else prefer NwN to this? For some reason it just seems way too over-simplified and dumbed-down.
I think either of the NWN games are better. For the same reasons you said. But that's just me. I still like Dragon Age: Origins.
I just got the game, but I got a quick question. Is leveling the same as Mass Effect? If I keep a character out of my party, do they still get EXP for the stuff I do without him? Or do I need to keep characters in my party if I want them to level up?
A Better question yet: Can I fight without having to pause KotOR style between a few moves ?
they're about a level behind you. TheTalon, easy is your friend. this game is tactical and it's not kidding around.
I'm playing it on Easy. I do feel like less of a gamer, but really I enjoy the story and dialogue the most, and I don't feel like the skills and stats in the game warrant all the extra effort that a harder difficulty would require. I just need to decide how to spend my attribute points for the mage I'm starting.
A Better question yet: Can I fight without having to pause KotOR style between a few moves ?
It's hard as a brick shithouse if you don't.
When is the Return To Ostagar DLC being released, i've been waiting ages for it. It said coming this holiday season, so i thought christmas day, but nope, now it just says "coming soon" which it has beeen saying for like a month
Elves are gigantic faggots.
But they have the starting stats for a mage! I just need a beard mod damnit!
Is it normal that my rogue misses a lot of the time? It's starting to get really goddamn annoying. Only level 6 at the moment.
Man, this game really doesn't fuck around in punishing you. I was stealing from everything I could in denerim because I didn't know what would happen if it failed, and then after I tried to move to another part of the city I got stopped by 17 guards that wanted to kill me for stealing shit.
