Man, this game really doesn't fuck around in punishing you.
I was stealing from everything I could in denerim because I didn't know what would happen if it failed, and then after I tried to move to another part of the city I got stopped by 17 guards that wanted to kill me for stealing shit.
oh god, i gotta try that... i wonder if you keep stealing, could you get more guards?
oh god, i gotta try that... i wonder if you keep stealing, could you get more guards?
I don't know. I got like 9 archers all shooting at me at once. :sigh:

That happened to me, but I had Morrigan put them all asleep, gave a few of them night terrors and slashed up the rest. It was surprisingly fun.
edit: though it didn't negate the surprise of being able to steal while the owner of the objects stares vacantly on and suddenly having the city guard materialise in some back alley.
I didn't know there was a 'steal&getyourasskicked' system in DA: O, oh well!
God damn it Morrigan.
Why do you insist on getting all pissy when I try to do sidequests? IT'S WHY I PLAY GOD DAMNED RPGS.
I'm following the Orzammar quests, and I just reached [sp]the Broodmother[/sp]. :geno:
Does anybody have any suggestions as to beating that thing? I'm ridiculously short on poultices -- a standard, about 6 greater and two potent -- and it seems like it'd take forever to head back to Orzammar and restock. (Shale looks like he'd be awesome here, but I don't have the Stone Prisoner or whatever the DLC is called)
Also, is there any way -- in-game or through a mod -- to reallocate attribute (i.e. strength, magic, and so on) and skill points (i.e. Winter's Grasp, Below the Belt...)?
edit: Wait, no, I lied; I think that the shorter code is for the DLC. Time to drag myself back to the surface and find Shale.
Got this for Christmas, and wow...
I'm actually in quite dislike after some reading, apparently Bioware decided to go the restrictive route of everything in the game being set amounts. You can never find new enemies, no random loot, no ways to level up, and to be honest, I quite hate it :( I've never seen the point of crap like that aside from some kind of elitist masochism.
Please tell me there are mods that change this, or I'm going to have to force myself to beat it at least once, and then never play my gift again :(
EDIT: The other sad thing is I have been trying to locate copies of NWN and Baldur's Gate to try, but if they're like this, I've lost all interest in bothering.
To be honest I'm not to hot for this game either, it has no re-playability appeal to me. I must of played KOTOR at least a dozen times from start to finish, but I can't even bring myself to play this a 2nd time.
I'm thinking of getting this game. One of the reasons is because it has a dragon on the cover.
Yet, I just don't know if I should get it. Going by the screenshots, it's going to be another one of those "your gear is more important than anything" games. Plus, hearing that you have to make difficult decisions.
I just wanna know if it's worth the money. Even with 25% off.

I loved playing it, but the problem is that, after playing it, it feels like more energy to play another game then the fun value you get out of it.
Some dev said that the story was a bit similar to George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.
I have a couple of months before I upgrade my computer, so should I read those books to get in the mood for this game?
I have to say, the 50€ were well placed since I got 170 hours out of it.
Won't touch it again until RtO comes out.
I've been enjoying this game far more than I anticipated, since I typically require "Roleplaying Game" to be synonymous with "Freedom to do anything", and this game is extremely linear. I'm pleasantly surprised.

This sums it up pretty well for me
one thing that i don't like about his is how come there is no loot all button and why does my character do not auto-attack when mobs are nearby.
I don't get this game. It's easy sometimes, like around Flemeth and the Broodmother, and then I just get butt-fucked around a swarm of 10 dead beat rogues.
Plus, hearing that you have to make difficult decisions.
That's a bad thing to you?

I'm pretty sure there's a 'take all' button in the window that comes up when you loot a body and I can't actually think of a game where the player character does auto-attack off the top of my head. If you're talking about party members, try pressing 'h'.

I think what he wants is a variant of Mass Effect, where you click the character to take what they have and it doesn't go to any sort of screen, rather it goes straight into the inventory (with it flashing to show it's a new item.)
I'm pretty sure there is a mod for that.
BUT THERE'S NO MOD FOR ELVEN FACIAL HAIR. :saddowns:

Yeah. I'm in the abandoned building in Denerim with the blood mages.
[sp]How the fuck am I supposed to fight three goddamn blood mages and an army of footsoldiers at the same time for christ's fucking sake[/sp]
I eventually just left it, figured I wasn't high level enough.

yeah, that system, the same with KOTOR. i want an auto-attack on my character that i countrolled wlll auto engage in combat once it get strucked and proceed to the next target after his foe is defected, auto attack will disengage when you move your character out but re-engage if are strucked again.

Have Morrigan lob around a few fireballs while Wynne sets up a mass paralysis, then use cone of cold while mopping up what's left with your warriors.
So I got the delux edition on Steam.
How do I tell if I have the DLC installed.
I'm pretty sure there is a mod for that.

there's a reason for that. elves have always been fair/beautiful folk. and it's expressed with near feminine charactaristics. no beard. always been that way.
if you wan't a hairball, go for a dwarf.

Ah. See, that would be why I can't do it, my party members don't have those spells (in fact, I still only have Morrigan, Alistair, and my dog) and they're only like, level 7/8.
Thanks though. I'll come back when I have more firepower.
Also, does anyone else think the dog is lovable :3:

but dorfs r short and hav no mgekz. :saddowns:
I have two codes. One works perfectly, and is 4 sets of 4 characters long, while the other is just one string of 20 characters, and doesn't work in the redeem box thingy.
What do I do?

You have looked in the downloaded / installed tabs in the online content window (or whatever it's called), right?
The more I play this game, the more I realize how similar Orzammar is to a game of Dwarf Fortress.
Down to the way people deal with nobles, it's identical.
