There's a few more easter eggs pointing to Baldur's Gate in the game.
Oh God.
He has so many amazing quotable lines it's not even funny. Yoshimo too.
"What do you need? I am skilled in avoidance."
"Very well. Hiiii-yah."
[sp]Such a shame he had to die :([/sp]
I've found the game has an extremely epic feel when you go in this order:
- Redcliffe Castle
- The Woods
- Mages Tower
- Orzammar
- Denerim for the lulz and missions
- Urn of Sacred Ashes
- Landsmeet
Is it possible to do the Landsmeet before, say, Orzammar? For some reason the culmination of [sp]finally facing Loghain and killing Howe[/sp] makes it feel like the Landsmeet is meant as the last mission before facing the Darkspawn.

Apparently Inon Zur did this, which explains why it's so goddamn awesome.
He did the BGII SOA theme tune which is possibly my favourite fantasy theme ever, and there are definite tones of it near the end.
Alright I just bought this and Holy Shit.
This is really fucking dissapointing. I just left the camp, looking for the archive and the treaties, and I really want sombody to tell me the quality of the game improves. I have already hit one bug that caused me to restart the game, and the appearently the deamonspawn are so evil because they bring with them, Endless supplies of invisible walls.
Seriously, sparse reeds are not enough to hide an invisible wall in.
The game just feels so...90's.
juuust keep playing. shit gets awesome and more openworlded soon.
and yes, this game is very 90's. these guys haven't made a fantasy RPG since the early 00's and i think that this game is impressive if you take that into account. also, epic moments are packed tight in this shit.
and, you've only played like 1 percent of the game.... maybe you should allow the game to really start?

oh man, i really hope that either their next DLC or rumored expansion holds a full Baldur's Gate dungeon like experience. eerie and full of atmosphere, like Durlag's Tower and Watchers Keep. they had the length and backstory and content to keep you in there for a week at first run.
and i got insanely fascinated by both and promptly dug up all background history on both places.... there's a fuckton.
Bioware, Do this again. if i ever get into VideoGame bussines i'll make such a dungeon experience.
[sp] i mean, there's seriously nothing more insane and scary than hearing the roar of what you know to be the ultimate ruler of the planes, the overlord of demons, tumbling through the halls shaking the very structure of the tower you are descending. and when you finally face it, you hear it's deep evil tempting voice ecco in your mind, horrified by the knowledge that covering your ears won't keep this evil out of your head.
also, hearing Durlag Trollkiller retell his demise, the death of his family and the capture of his tower by a single Doomknight. lore is raining abundant right there.[/sp]
again, bioware, please do some more of this shit again, or i will have to recreate and adapt these to the dragon age experience myself to allow others to play these.
All this running around in [sp]the fade[/sp] really does dragon.

Goddamnit, don't link to TVtropes! It ruins everyones life. :crying:
I think I'm getting a hang of the combat. I've managed to do a number of battles now, without anyone dying. No thanks to the AI, which is stupid as fuck, no matter how many times I tell it to use a goddamn potion when you're low on health.
Then again, perhaps the game is just lulling me into a false sense of security, so that the inevitable Really Tough Battle will be all the more aggravating. :v:
And yet, I somehow manage to love it.
Are you seriously daft? What the fuck does "A new time of asymmetrical armour" mean?
I don't see how I could have explained it any better.
It is not symmetrical. It is armor. It is available when you beat DA: O.
Even though I already fucking told you, read it again.
New = recently added postman. Daft my ass.

OK so you are daft. "A new time of asymmetrical armor" means fuck-all.
That aside. I'm doing the Shale Quest. Is there some sort of giant boss at the end I should be saving my poultices for?
Played alot more today and the game is firmly on the road to redemption in my eyes. I was getting pissed of dying in battles, when In reality i needed to change tactics, and to be honest that is a good thing. I always bitch about games being to simple command, but DoA has atcually proved pretty well balanced and challenging.

I don't think you're actually reading your own post.
What the fuck does "A new time of asymmetrical armour" mean?
Help us decrypt this secret message.
Maybe it's a severe typo of type?
[editline]10:31PM[/editline]
Also just realised all the screenshots I took of my character throughout the entire game and all the story ones got wiped when I uninstalled the CC, I had cool archdemon slayin stuff too :c
I couldn't even use recuva to get anything back either :[

You dense motherfucker. Seriously read your own post first. "A new time of asymmetrical armour."
Anybody else disappointed by the Dragon Blood armor? It's pretty damn cheesy looking compared to the Mass Effect version and makes you look stupidly fat compared to other massive armors. I was so disappointed by it I even sold it despite it's good armor rating and effects.
I don't like it either, I sell it off to the first merchant I find to reel in dem sovereigns. I hate it mainly because the dragon looks kinda compressed or warped and the glowy bits are stupid
I mean shit I'd quicker use the Dwarven Massive set than I would the DB set. At least the Dwarven Massive doesn't have shiny red LEDs embedded in it.
[editline]04:28AM[/editline]
broke mah late automerge
[editline]04:29AM[/editline]
but yeah it's the shiny bits that kill it.

good good... very good bioware....
So I just got this game, things are going well.. but I'm still new to this so when I went into the city of Denman or something, how exactly do you leave the city? e-e
I want to return to my camp!

Press M to bring up the map, then there's a button at the bottom which shows you the world map, then your camp should be in the top right corner.
I got it a couple minutes ago, thanks!
just saw the trailer for the expansion. MAN THAT REALLY feels like a bioware rpg. finally. dragon age will get it's place among top rpg's with this one. i'm sure.
the villain is fascinating, the story seemed enthralling, just one more thing and it'll be a perfect bioware expansion as we know and love them.
a deep 12 hour dungeon. and new stronger dragons are confirmed, oh, epic encounters. i so love those longass battles. i fondly remember fighting abazigal in BGT with ascension mod. that was a full 30 minute fight. i SOOO love this... i feel like a twilight fan. i'll go mollest some lizards and pretend it's dragons.
as you can tell, i'm extatic. and there is no cure.
Video was deleted, anyone got another link?
I have a few nagging questions about this game.
1. Do party members that are not being used gain XP like everyone else, or do they just become useless after not being used for a long time?
2. Is the coercion skill only useful if the character you created has it? Since they are the only ones that ever talk to NPC's. I'm getting kind of pissed that I didn't choose coercion, instead I picked pickpocketing, which I can do with Leliana just fine now, so I don't really need it for my character.
1: Fuck you BioWare where is my Return to Ostagar DLC?
2: Fuck yeah BioWare expansion!
Return to Ostagar is out

Why can't I see it on Xbox Live Marketplace then?
1: Fuck you BioWare where is my Return to Ostagar DLC?

According to some italian game site it's going to be released tomorrow. That's all speculation tough, nobody on the BioWare forums commented on it being delayed apart from making a thread going "Hey guys sorry RtO is delayed".
Return to Ostagar is out

Was supposed to be released today, got delayed for unknown reasons.
Video was deleted, anyone got another link?
A couple of guys on the BioWare forums, including me uploaded it to youtube and the like after it was taken down. The mods there removed the links and a BioWare dev stated that they'd have the video out soon.
Apparently the PC version is only 29.99 instead of the 40$ for the console versions.
