Broodmother second time around was easy.
Once you have played through it once you really get the hang of it all. I'm finding it much easier this playthrough, and the combat is more enjoyable (I really didn't like it before) now I understand it 100%
So I just completed Soldier's Peak DLC, was it short? Yeah. Was it worth it? Yeah. The Warden Commander Armor looks badass.
I find this game to be incredibly difficult :/
I'm a human warrior specializing in dual wielding and i've just finnished the[sp]earl redcliff or whatever and i have to go get some healing urn[/sp]
Made a new character, an elf warrior. I'm only at Ostagar so far. Being a uncaring, insensitive jerk in-game is fun.

Have you set the difficulty to Easy?
Normal was pretty difficult.
Yeah, I'm a duel weilding elven warrior too. I really like it. :D Also, I'm getting it on with Leilana and Morrigan now likes me. :smug:

Yeah, i guess this game just takes alot of getting used to. The micro-management is really good but if you don't get it just right, your fucked :(

A few tips:
Pause loads. Never leave it to real time, your chars should pretty much never be using normal attacks.
Get Morrigan Ice Cone, Heal and Misdirection Hex ASAP. All of those are extremely useful.
For a warrior like alistar or maybe even your main char, shield bash, shield pummel, assault and overpower are all your best friends.
Do not leave the tactics as standard or you will have your characters do stupid things like taunt when they only have 10% hp left.
For warriors attributes are important in this order:
Strength,
Dexterity,
Constitution.
So a good working combo of those things might be 32 str, 26 dex and 20 const.
For Mages, Magic, Willpower, Dexterity and Constitution are all important, willpower should be upgraded when you realise you are running out of mana a lot.
For all classes, go onto the skills page before upgrading attributes. See what levels you need for skills which are in reach and upgrade accordingly
e.g. You may need 26 magic for a spell and you have 24 magic. By seeing this you know it would be advantageous to put 2 points on magic.
That's what I've learned from my 55 hours of play so far. It's actually easy on easy now.
Hope this helps.

I can only see that being useful mate thanks
I just escaped from the prison after trying to smuggle that one lady out of the arl of denirim's place, and I'm thinking that this is a really long game.

How is dexterity good for mages? Doesn't that only affect melee weapons?
How is dexterity good for mages? Doesn't that only affect melee weapons?
It increases defence, which can be quite handy considering that robes do pretty much nothing for defence.
A good combo might be something like 28 magic, 20 dex, 22 const, 22 willpwr
Is this game worth getting? Seems like the required specs are pretty low.
Yes
[editline]05:08PM[/editline]
And how does specs relate to whether it is worth getting or not?
Would a party consisting of me as a dwarven rogue, Morrigan, Wynne, and Shale work? I'm debating on whether I should use Shale or Allister... Allister is really good for mage shutdown, but Shale is currently my only character capable of decent crowd control.

Yes. Very much so. It ran on my nigh-ancient laptop. (Not spectacularly well, but it ran.)
Why is morrigan not crowd-control? Usually mages are the best crowd control types.
I recently started playing this game, and the only thing bugging me so far (besides my character not actually being voiced) is the models for bows.. Is there a mod that makes them look less ridiculous?

Personally, I always have Alistar and Morrigan in my party at all times, because they are important characters and therefore I care about their dialogue more. I'm a human warrior.
Started another character. This time a human warrior who's good at being a tank. I'll find something else for Alistair to do. Any suggestions?
I should really get to playing this again though WC3 has my attention. :(

stand around in camp while Zev is acting DPS rougue.... perhaps?

Great idea! Would definitely make the camp look better.
I actually really liked the mage quest, it wasn't hard at all...
It wasn't hard, but the part where the demon traps you in the fade was really boring.
Great idea! Would definitely make the camp look better.
exactly. fit him in Cailans amor and you have a great statue by the fire.
so far, he's been tank in both my parties. he's fantastic. i'll never play with him again though.
i miss Minsc, Dynaheir, Jaheira, Khalid, Imoen and later on Arie... i want them, so baaad.
It wasn't hard, but the part where the demon traps you in the fade was really boring.
i dunno, i liked the look of the spirit form, looked badass :D
It wasn't hard, but the part where the demon traps you in the fade was really boring.
For me, the most boring part of the game was the final battle, then the dalish. The fade was fun :D
In my second playthrough I'm also enjoying it a lot. I've clocked up 25 hours on my new save and I've only so far got the urn and finished orzammar. I'm doing every single quest I can find.
Why is morrigan not crowd-control? Usually mages are the best crowd control types.
Because I gave her a respec so that she was actually useful as a healer, because I didn't have Wynne at the time. I suppose I should just respec her back to a damage dealing mage, and then have Allister, Morrigan, Wynne and me.
But I like Shale so much. :saddowns:
Alright, I'm really confused. I'm at the part where I must decide whether to back [sp]Alistar or Loghain's daughter in the Landsmeet. I don't know what to do!!! Alistar is the rightful king, but he doesn't want to be king. She seems to be all grabby for the throne. I don't know. helpplz[/sp]

If you talk to Alistar, he'll eventually tell you not to pick her over him. But I believe this requires him to be hardened. In the end they both rule well, but Anora is a bitch.
