as I have deduced if they don't suck terribly they are hacking or nerds who play 16 hours a day

1.6 had alot more. I don't think I ever saw more then 10 or even near that number.
If you're unlucky or go into non-VAC secured servers, you probably will encounter hackers. It's hard to tell sometimes, though, who's hacking and who just doesn't have a life (watch frag videos and you'll see what I mean).

I have been banned probably 3 times because people think i'm hacking, when it's one of those days when you are [b] really, really[/b] lucky.
I love it. It's flattering actually. But also annoying when you want to play on tat server really bad.
I dunno about you guys, but I think the really good pubstar CAL/CPL league guys are more annoying than hackers.

just play on sv_pure servers and a KAC server. Those usually catch the hackers and if they get past that they are usually using ring0 cheats from organner. In that case they are much less blatant or not in a pub at all.
Eh, the amount of hacking in CSS is greatly exaggerated, of course, like any big multi-player PC game, there are a few out there, but they are quite rare.
No, just play on VAC servers and your pretty much secure. If someone happens to use a cheat on the server. Just change server.
Yes unfortunately they do on wars / mixes. i play alot of css and honestly it's really obvious and all they reply with is "o rly" "?" "no i dont"
