You can make it onto the silo without the aid of a teammate

That's because silo is intentional and not an exploit.
where is the server being hosted?
[editline]19th February 2013[/editline]
where as in where on the globe
Yo man, I'm in. I can throw in a server in Chicago too, I think. Hit me up and I'll work it out

Hexxeh has chimed in server support, I'm working with him to get a request & provisioning system working. As it's going to be using the Google Compute Engine API, there'll be buttloads of locations to choose (practically everywhere on the planet) - we tested with an EU-WEST server yesterday (most likely ireland) and got sub-40ms consistently.
How about instead of only 'valve released' maps, we do only maps that were ever used in competitive play?
Things like CPL_mill, CPL_fire, CPL_strike (I don't think there is a CSGO version of CPL_fire yet)
The only decent maps that came with GO for competitive play are d2, nuke, inferno.
Any ideas on how to rate my team? Is there a kind of relation to skill groups? I'm just wondering.

use the elo ranks or something
It's from 1-10.
It's from 1-10.
1 is "this is my first match and I expect to get a K/D in the region of 1/50", 10 is "I'm supa MLG and play competitively and do well at it, please give me other people that will literally rip my anus to shreds"
Count me in!
Played 1.6 from 2005 to 2010 in tournaments and shit.

It helps if you register
It helps if you register
Sorry, I was in a match. Registered now.
how many people are registered?
how many people are registered?
18 individuals with 1 team (so 4 theoretical teams)
Well, I guess I'm not needed then. I'd probably at least watch for a while.
Edit: if you guys wind up playing any of the older competitive maps from the old days like the new GO versions of CPL maps or things like russkia and cbble, I'd love to join in.

Holy fuck you're needed, I'm struggling to get good team matchups (as I kinda suspected I would at the start). If this becomes a big issue to the point that I'm severely struggling to match teams, I'm probably going to have to split this to EU / US tournaments
UPDATE READ READ READ
This handy dandy link will show you everyone that I haven't been able to pool yet. If you think you see a team, or you need an extra member or two for your team, please PM me and I'll hook you up. can we ask for people to be in our groups?
I want a guy from EU in my team. (My team is pretty much not gonna work out since not everyone goes on steam and timezones do not seem to work out)

Pick someone you like from the pool and let me know (might be tomorrow before I get back to you)
How do people without facepunch usernames register for this?
How do people without facepunch usernames register for this?
Team captains must be Facepunchers for administrative purposes (might change this if we do another event in the future), but just add N/A in place of the FP username of the users who are not members. Individuals must be Facepunchers.
Im gonna register ASAP. Just need to speak with some teammebers first.
Damn, I have a full 5 man mid team on GO, pretty good ranking on EnemyDown aswell.
It has to be all facepunchers then?
Leach, you should post up the prospective teams so far that have confirmed. I'm still trying to reach some people on my team (but also have some confirmations).
alright I'm down to do the 7pm eastern team again, I got my microphone in the mail and everything else is all set. If the spot's still open, I'm down
Current teams:
Team Crowbar: (jakeam) Cheeseist, Alex141, DistortionGamer, me tentatively
Team Fluid: (aclonegeek), kontract, 3 non FP (tentative)
Pool teams:
Pool 1: (0FucksGiven) Altern?, Sokrates, Jung3o, cakemaster7; awaiting confirmation that the team is happy to play together
Pool 2: (Elv02) Starscre4M, Ericson666, Theportalmaster, Zovox; awaiting team happiness
By the way, if you're planning on submitting a team before the deadline, rate agree, and if you're an individual awaiting signup (why) do disagree
how many players are registered aside from everyone on a team?
