In terms of storyline there is quite an in depth backstory (mostly revolving around "Onh NOESSS ALIENS ATTUK R PLANEUT!! SEND in Sup4h Speec M4rIneZ"). But there is depth nonetheless.
Gameplay wise it is a joke.
Bioshock would be a good one.
I would do Half-live.
Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress, or one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games
Shenmue
Lan-Di is one stone cold motherfucker
Dwarf Fortress. Tell the story of Boatmurdered.

I doubt you even paid attention to the story.
Little Red Hood
I wish my old school even liked video games. Every time I mention them, they're like "video games are bad they melt your brain"
Yet we had computer class and learning video games.
OK, its now either Mass Effect or Minecraft, which one?
Deus Ex. Talk about how the name of the game has nothing to do with it until you get further and it makes more and more sense
OK I have decided on Mass Effect 2
You cannot go wrong with the Metal Gear Solid Series. Most complicated video game stories ever I believe.
Make it about Street Fighter. If you look around, it's got a massive following, and the tournaments for it are always balls to the wall.
Actually scratch Mass Effect, I have not played any of the games and I would like to make a documentry of a PC game
Garry's Mod?

Oh shit yes, I am going to make a documentry about Garry's Mod
Planescape:Torment. Weird that nobody said that.

If you want story of course.
Do portal

Really rather confused why people think the Half Life series has a good story.
You haven't either played the game or looked around if you say that.
You do realize Mass Effect is on the PC :raise:
People saying Halo has no story are daft. Drop CoD and read a book or a Wiki.
I'd add some Cthulhu info there if I were you. Could give some needed depth.
Facade :downs:
I am picturing this small yet chubby 15 year old boy awkwardly pushing up his glasses behind his long greasy hair, dandruff silently withering its way onto the teachers desk... "he-hello, th-th-this is a v-v-video game video I made about the g-game X"" Then shuffling to the classes light to turn off, as he pretends to ignore the 2 dozen jocky guys who did videos about economics and cute girls who did videos about the global ecosystem not attempting to hold back snickers and whispers of the light that is bestowed upon them. The video probably has a sentence or two per scene -if any- mostly read-out-loud Wikipedia article chunks and unbiased personal oppinion spoken in a broken, monotone voice. The video ends, the class ended up snickering uncontrollably as the short 15 year old chubby kid puts his head on the desk in shame, because at the end, all he wanted was to be cool... by making a school project on a video game.

You should write a book. And then go shove it up your ass. He's probably doing it for an electronics class or literature class, and those other "jocky guys" probably did something simple like CoD or a book with only 100 pages, while the girls did Twilight.

Now where's the zing rating?
And yes, I know that they were cutscenes in games before, I was talking about the general concept... Sure Indigo Prophecy(Fahrenheit) had action cutscenes too, and other games as well(like the newer Resident Evil ones), but Heavy Rain uses them in a way, which makes you feel like watching a movie.
Half Life.
