They haven't showed any footage yet due to being delayed another 5 years because you made fun of Gabe's weight.
Remember how Valve wasn't listed as attending last year? This means nothing.
Remember how Valve wasn't listed as attending last year? This means nothing.
They noted of a "surprise". This time they didn't.
At least there taking time on it. It's not like Call of Duty, where you get the same game 2 years in a row until they overhaul there shitty engine.

It took them 6 years to get to Half Life 2, same goes for Counter strike source, took them 10 years for Team Fortress 2 and 4 years for Portal 2. Either they are just lazy, or they just want there games to be perfection. But who knows, right?
What about DOTA? That game seems to have dropped off the radar entirely.
Didn't they say something about shorter cycles? Wasn't that why they weren't doing Episode 3? I suddenly care about E3 a whole lot less...
maybe they will show up without telling us?
Maybe they called it the half life series because it takes half of your life to release a goddamn sequel.
What about DOTA? That game seems to have dropped off the radar entirely.
Probably going to be focused during summer. After dota2 there are no other games announced so I am being optimistic and saying that we could see episode three next year, that is if it's not that "secret project that wont be revealed in the next 5years". Also I wonder if the project is prospero, they wanted to do it, they wanted to start it again after tf2. Anyway, nothing but guessing lol.
Maybe they called it the half life series because it takes half of your life to release a goddamn sequel.
That has got to be the best thing I've heard all day, thank you for lightening up my day, sir.
DotA 2 and Steam for iOS. Calling it now.
They noted of a "surprise". This time they didn't.
It's not really a surprise if they inform you of one long before. That's like someone telling you that you'll be having a surprise birthday party.
Look guys, it's never gonna happen! (Stolen from LMAO pics)
With Duke Nukem Forever supposedly coming out, it looks like Half Life Ep3 may take it's place
May I ask, why was the OP rated dumb?
May I ask, why was the OP rated dumb?
I think it's directed at Valve and their poor PR.
I don't think they're taking their time going over it for bugs etc. I'm pretty sure they're just lazy and haven't fully developed a story yet.
I think it's more that they're taking their time because they want it to be really good, they wouldn't just say nothing for 3+ years, obviously something awesome/big is coming.
Remember how Valve wasn't listed as attending last year? This means nothing.
It's not that Valve isn't listed, it's that Valve has told press "don't contact us about making appointments, we aren't going to be there". Meanwhile, by this time last year they were happily taking appointments for Portal 2 screenings and interviews. As for why HL3 is taking so long, I imagine they don't want to just make more HL2 maps. The episodes didn't add much to the gameplay; they've probably been experimenting with ways to freshen things up for the big finale.
and this is supposed to be a surprise how? they said it enough times there wont be any half-life in the near-ish future.
I think it's more that they're taking their time because they want it to be really good, they wouldn't just say nothing for 3+ years, obviously something awesome/big is coming.
I sure hope you're right. I mean, logically this seems to fit Valve's modus operandi, but emotionally I feel like they've abandoned the franchise. I'm torn in a weird way that I don't like. I just wish they'd say something, ANYTHING, about it.

Hey guys remember what Duke Nukem Forever used to mean? "Do Not Finish" blahblah Episode 3 is the new DNF. Maybe we'll see it when our mighty Gearbox overlords buy Valve over and fast-track it for release :ohdear:
Hey guys remember what Duke Nukem Forever used to mean? "Do Not Finish" blahblah Episode 3 is the new DNF. It's only been a few years, it hasn't even been 8 years, like TF2 took. (TF2 was first announced in 1999 as a super tactical military shooter and I'm definitely glad it didn't turn out that way.)
With Duke Nukem Forever supposedly coming out, it looks like Half Life Ep3 may take it's place
Except Duke Nukem Forever was dead for more than a decade, and there haven't been any Half-Life games for only 4 years.
Wasn't there, about a month back, an image Valve released of a bathysphere that everyone assumed was related to Episode 3? Whatever happened to that?
I'm allowed to jump to conclusions, dammit! :arghfist::razz: From the time it's taking though, I damn well expect HL3. Either that or the single best short game I will ever play.
Wasn't there, about a month back, an image Valve released of a bathysphere that everyone assumed was related to Episode 3? Whatever happened to that?
It was part of the Potato Fools Day ARG. There was no connection to Half-Life.
