Characters: Sora A fourteen-year-old boy who lives on the Destiny Islands with his best friends Riku and Kairi, a kind-hearted young man who dreams of seeing other worlds. After the islands are consumed by darkness he finds himself alone in another world. He travels to various different worlds with Donald and Goofy in search of Riku and Kairi. He wields the Keyblade, a weapon capable of destroying the darkness and sealing the hearts of worlds. His name means "sky". Riku Riku is the fifteen-year-old friend of Sora and Kairi and lives with them on Destiny Islands. He and Sora always competed on everything as friendly rivals. He was meant to be the original wielder of the Keyblade, but he gave in to the darkness of his heart in order to fulfill his dream of seeing other worlds. His name means "land." Kairi A fourteen-year-old girl who arrived on the Destiny Islands when she was little, and has been best friends with Sora and Riku ever since. Her name is based on the Japanese word for "sea" ("kai"). The King The King of Disney Castle who set out on a mission to find out the secret of the Heartless. He left a note to Donald and Goofy telling them to find the Keyblade wielder. Donald Duck Disney Castle's Court Magician. He is searching for his missing King by traveling to various worlds in the gummi ship. He and Goofy team up with Sora in order to find their King. Goofy Captain of the Royal Knights at Disney Castle. He is also searching for the King alongside Donald. Ansem The former ruler of Hollow Bastion who turned himself into a Heartless so he could find Kingdom Hearts, which he believed would give him the ultimate power of darkness. Terra Terra is one of the main protagonists in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Terra, along with his best friends Ventus and Aqua, is a Keyblade apprentice, and it is his dream to reach the rank of Master. Ventus Ventus, also known as Ven, is one of the main protagonists in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. He shares the same dream as his friends Terra and Aqua. Aqua Aqua is one of the main protagonists of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. From the view of the story, it is revealed she is one of the Keyblade Wielders before Sora. Like Terra and Ventus, it is her dream to become a Keyblade Master. Revolving around a fourteen-year old boy named Sora, it details his adventures after his homeworld is destroyed by sinister creatures known as the Heartless, and his attempts to restore his world and reunite with his friends. In the process, he meets many characters from classic Disney films and a handful from the Final Fantasy video game series.
My opinion: If you're thinking of starting, start here, regardless of what you hear about it, it may be the most basic in the series, but it's one of the most fun. 7/10
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is a Game Boy Advance sequel to Kingdom Hearts. It was published by Square Enix and developed by Jupiter, and was released in 2004.
My opinion: Combat can be frustrating, and the game is not much like it's predecessor. Play this after Kingdom Hearts I. 6/10. It also offers a number of improvements over the original with many new features, most notably Sora's Drive Form function, an improved camera, and in-battle options called Reaction Commands.
My opinion: Combat is improved, becomes a lot more flashy and fun with reaction commands 7/10
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (read "Kingdom Hearts Three-Five-Eight Days over Two") is an RPG developed by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS, with aid from h.a.n.d. It focuses on the life of Roxas between the end of Kingdom Hearts and the beginning of Kingdom Hearts II, exploring the time from Roxas's creation until his confrontation with Riku that leads to his placement in the simulated Twilight Town.
My opinion: Can't give my own opinion on this, since I haven't gotten a chance to play it. If any one would be nice enough to write one, I would gladly put it on the OP.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is a Kingdom Hearts prequel for the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). It was released in Japan on January 9, 2010, September 7, 2010 in North America, and September 10, 2010 in Europe.[4] The game's name is shared with the secret video at the end of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, "Birth by sleep", which depicts a stylized version of a scene from the game. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep was developed by the same team that created Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
The enemies The heartless: [img_thumb]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090820081857/kingdomhearts/images/2/20/Heartless_hires.png[/img_thumb]
The Heartless are beings of darkness which manifest in two forms, "Pureblood" and "Emblem". While most Heartless are in fact manifest hearts, they behave entirely devoid of emotion, and were thus named "Heartless".
The Nobodies: [img_thumb]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090820193745/kingdomhearts/images/c/c7/Nobody.png[/img_thumb]
A Nobody is what is left behind by those whose hearts have been consumed by Heartless. The first generic Nobodies are seen in Kingdom Hearts II, although Xemnas appeared as early as Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, it was unknown that he was a Nobody. They are made of body and soul. All Nobody types are named after job classes in the Final Fantasy video game series, except for Dusks, Creepers, Twilight Thorn and several fought with the Gummi Ship.
The Keyblade:
The Keyblades are mysterious weapons that are heavily featured in the Kingdom Hearts series. Wielded by the main character, Sora, as well as a number of other important characters, the Keyblade is a main part of the battle between Darkness and Light.
What order to play the games in: Kingdom Hearts I Kingdom Hearts: Chains of Memories Kingdom Hearts II Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 days Kingdom Hearts: Birth By sleep. The last two are interchangeable. Great game series, worth a try if you like action games. And if you think it's a 'kiddy' game, you can suck my dick. [editline]12:08AM[/editline] Also, I'm going to be adding more content to the thread. Ideas for more content to be added to the OP is appreciated.
Sweet, Kingdom Hearts!
I played the first one and then I played the second one and was like "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS?!" [editline]05:13AM[/editline] The first one I liked really much apart from the really tragically done boss fights.
I've purposefully left out some stuff due to spoilers. I won't add the Unversed unless some one writes up a completely spoiler free synopsis for them, because I can't think of one.
Well I see one messup, under enemies you forgot the "unversed"
Well I see one messup, under enemies you forgot the "unversed"
Read the above post please.
Read the above post please.
Sorry I posted it at the same time you did. [editline]10:18PM[/editline] Well you forgot kingdom hearts coded....haha
The Ansem revelation in KH2 made me want to headbutt my TV screen. It wasn't thought out, it was just there to make the game seem like it had a good plot.
So we got a Kingdom Hearts thread now, eh?
So we got a Kingdom Hearts thread now, eh?
No. :downs:
The Ansem revelation in KH2 made me want to headbutt my TV screen. It wasn't thought out, it was just there to make the game seem like it had a good plot.
It makes a lot more sense if you play Birth By Sleep.
It makes a lot more sense if you play Birth By Sleep.
Do they explain why [sp]Rikku looks like that xen guy and think he's Ansem?[/sp] Because the story in KH2 just barely touches on that subject. What I think is that they wrote a story and then they didn't think the story was complicated enough for a KH game so they made it into a mindfuckfest of fuck and feast.
The Kingdom Hearts games are fun, but the character relations are a mindfuck. My KH1 game glitched and Pongo and Perdita wouldn't give me Aeroga after I returned all the puppies, so I was forced to stick with Aeroa for the last fights. It really does make a difference during some of the later fights like against Sephiroth, Kurt Zisa, and Phantom.

I know I did.
KH2 felt just weird to me. I can't even properly replay it anymore, Sora just annoys the shit out of me. KH1 was really good, though.
KH2 felt just weird to me. I can't even properly replay it anymore, Sora just annoys the shit out of me. [editline]06:37AM[/editline] So boring :\ [editline]06:38AM[/editline] And the last boss(es) were pathetic. Felt more like a bunch of minigames
Nothing will ever compare to Kurt Zisa :(
Nothing will ever compare to Kurt Zisa :(
My god I spent so long trying to fight that guy. Great fight, but goddamn hard. Extremely gratifying to finally beat him.
I don't even know how I beat the bastard. Who the fuck are unversed? Wait, nevermind, spoilers I bet.
Fucking finally, I've been waiting for this thread. :buddy:
Kurt Zisa was easy, The Phantom was harder, but still kinda easy. Sephiroth was easy in both PS2 ones, I haven't finished the GBA or the DS ones but I do have them. I'm still in scenario one (Doing Aqua first, although the order is meant to be Terra-Ven-Aqua) for Birth By Sleep, playing Proud Mode because I want a challenge without it being obnoxious like Critical Mode. The secret boss in this one is finally meant to be a satisfying challenge.
Phantom was easy after you figured it out.
I have kingdom hearts 2 on the ps2(might be the first one, not sure). Also the one on the gameboy. fun as hell.
What annoys me in Birth By Sleep is [sp]I have to get to a certain point in Arena Mode to get one of Xehanort's reports,[/sp] but I don't have any friends to play multiplayer with. And I don't think you can play Arena Mode in single player, right?
Kh2 was the best of all, Nobodies were way cooler than Heartless Riku was always better than Sora [editline]05:57PM[/editline] Having said that, Sora was pretty.. .righteous
Actually, yea its the 2nd one. I need to beat it
You can but it's still balanced towards Multiplayer. So the enemies are harder than in SP.
So I can play Arena in singleplayer? I guess I didn't look into it very much. :v: So far I've finished Terra's story, and perhaps half of Ven's. I've waited for this game since 2007, I think. and I've completed the first and second game several times on all difficulties, so I've pretty much outplayed them. I wish I had a DS and could still find CoM, playing them on emulators isn't very fun. :frown:

I'm positively surprised this thread isn't flamed to death. I fucking love KH series. The DS and GBA games are horrible, but BBS seems pretty good. Shame I don't own a PSP.
