Thought of an interesting idea.
How about an item you can buy that is like, an omnitool that one-hits any block and costs 100 platinum coins, only after beating all bosses and getting all other items. Either that or some sort of key that "wins" the game. I know sandboxes like this are supposed to be open ended but I have a feeling once you get everything the game will get stale quick, so you could just start a New Game+ or something with no items.

you can always create a new world or try to make some cool buildings and stuff
or start with a friend from 0

Wow. After digging for 30 minutes straight and avoiding lava like the plague, I finally start exploring a natural cave system when I drop my only fucking grappling hook into lava. Now I can't get out :(

Does anybody have a server with an arms dealer I can hop onto real quick? I need to buy the flintlock pistol and I've been breaking shadow orbs for 3 hours now and none have dropped a musket.

I made an underground home with ample room and only the guide moved in.
I had the requirements for nearly every other NPC but after 2 hours none moved in.

So when you make a character in this game, you use him in other servers instead of just one guy per server?
There needs to be more uses for Purification Powder. Maybe, if you hit a Corrupted monster with it, the monster turns into a special mob that you can kill for special loot that works really well against the Corruption? Like, purifying the Eater of Worlds turns it into a giant worm that drops "light scales" and such that is functionally identical to shadow scales, but the armor made from it increases jump height or adds an extra jump (stackable with the Cloud In A Bottle)

That would make the game even easier than it already is.
Man, this game is amazing.
I started a collective effort on a server to find the underground jungle. I had only copper armor and mostly iron tools, but I led a group of players to the edge of the world all the same. And then... we dug. Down and down, we went, until we stopped at this place around 1700 feet below. Some people left then, but I and two other pushed on, got on level ground, and dug left.
And then... we found it. Of course, me in my feeble copper armor took some damage, especially with that damn lag, and within minutes I had fallen into lag and died... BUT OTHERS PREVAILED.
In the end, I got nothing but a few jungle roses and a ball 'o hurt from a trade... BUT NOW THE OTHER PEOPLE ON THE SERVER CAN HAVE JUNGLE ITEMS!

I thought the zombies knocking on your door seemed pretty cool at first but after an hour i don't even notice it anymore because zombies are so easy, it's a bit of a wasted feature

It's neat, but I won't be using it because it really defeats the purpose of the game. At most I'll just use the other one without the symbols.

Anyone who has rocket boots will already have all of these. It's like the last item you will get. I have about everything but the rocket boots. And the whoopie cushion haha. Besides, just trading for it feels wrong. It's much more awesome when you find it yourself.
I got rocket boots long before I had a muramasa or starfury. I still had gold armor when I got mine.
I'm about to venture into hell. Should I wear my shadow armor to give me better protection from clowns, or should I wear my meteor armor so I'm better able to fly around with rocket boots?

I hope they give metals some sort of consumable use, it seems like after I get better armor there's no point in getting copper iron or silver other than selling or making chains.
After starting over numerous times, I finally finalized my adventure on a nice medium sized world. I already have enough topaz to make a Phaseblade if I get the chance in the future so now I can just store the gems away and sell whatever else I come across for some cheap silver and what not. And I found a whoopie cushion on my first worm kill. Whee.
