Yes it is possible. My house has wood, stone, and brick backgrounds and the NPC's are still there.

I have to build the entire fucking staircase network, which in turn provides spaces for the fire imp faggots to spawn on. Any misstep, or more like getting knocked off by the dozen or so of incoming fireballs has a 3/4 chance of landing me right in a goddamn lava pool.
Is there any specific strategy for slaughtering these little shits? Mine has been rushing them as quickly as possible before any more show up, but that's a little difficult if their in a tiny sealed pocket or too high above me.[/QUOTE]
1) Ignore them
2) Deflect their fireballs
3) Gather a huge lake and make that flow down and with you as you progress, due to a glitch it'll be infinite water and you can easily cross lava.

Anyone gotten the firelash before? Its controllable like the magic missile except it does 35 damage, fast speed, and uses 20 mana.

You need 50 silver or more. You don't need 1 gold. You need to make your rooms a bit wider. The Guide will move in as long as there is a table, chair, a light source, and a background.
