Why do people use hamachi for hosting? Port forwarding is a lot simpler.
So is this one of those games that has a huge learning curve and no ingame tutorial whatsoever? If so, where can I go to learn to play this game because I'm thinking of buying it.

It's really not as complicated as it looks. Watch one video maybe, glance at the wiki, jump in.

I would open the port on the router, but Hamachi is as simple as turning it on and presto! Done.
