They are both easy, but you have a time limit on the Eye.
Also, do mushrooms actually grow on the area where you put down seeds?

how much raw obsidian do you need for an obsidian skull, and can you make obsidian bars at a normal furnace(if you can make obsidian bars)?

You can't make obsidian bars. You can make it into BRICKS at a furnace, but not bars like the metals

I never bought the mining helmet. I knew in the long run I'd want defense more than light, so I always just leave a fuckton of torches throughout the caves.
It's easier now than it was in the leak, because slimes are a lot more generous with their gel now.

2 obsidian+6 hellstone=1 hellstone bar. Other than that, no obsidian bars though. And an obsidian skull should be 20 obsidian if I remember correctly.
So, I destroyed a shadow orb, and instead of saying a meteor has landed, it said something like "Screams echo around you"
Should I be worried?
Oh, also I'm looking for building advice. I'm making my house, and each room is made of progressively better materials. First was wood, (for the guide) then stone bricks, then clay bricks, then copper bricks. What can I make the next room out of that's a little less rare than silver? Any ideas? Maybe I should go to the dungeon and steal some bricks from there.

You may need to expand them so you can put beds in. I'm not sure if all NPCs need beds or not though.
Spikes and cobwebs placed by you should be able to affect enemies.

Nope, they can't.
In tested that in 5 worlds using a 6x6 room scheme with each room taking up 12x6 tiles, they'd only inhabit the outer diagonal ones and the middle one, or the outer horizontals and no others.
This was with the Guide, Demoman, Merchant and Nurse.
