They'll teleport to their chairs if left alone long enough.
I'm more concerned with how you got them to spawn without beds - I had three rooms ready sans beds, nothing. I put a bed down, Nurse has arrived. Second bed goes down, Merchant arrives.
Unfortunately the demoman didn't turn up when I placed the third bed (The dynamite is in a chest)
There are no skeletons generous enough to give me a hook in my friends' and my game
And I wish gels would spawn less often or not go directly towards the player without seeing them
How did you get them up there? I thought NPCs weren't smart enough to go up wooden platforms?
They just went up there. If you can't see your house they will appear and be in it when you come back.
besides, enemies are smart enough to do it, so npcs should be too...

They don't need beds.. Just a chair, a light, a table and a door.
We watched the guide walk around randomly under the platform for a bit before placing a block on head height under it. He instantly jumped on and is now living together with the merchant.
We're not asking questions why they share rooms so often
What's the best way to get iron ore early on?
my npcs keep spawning on my roof, so I have no problems getting them into my house.
Also, what should I be doing after I build a shelter? Digging down? Exploring left/right?
I have the new version of terraria but when I try to join hababy's server. It says Your not using the same version of the server.
Does the full version have more than the leak that got out before its release?
Does the full version have more than the leak that got out before its release?
Yes.
Yes.
Awesome, I'll be sure to get it then.. As soon as I manage to scrape $10. Is it worth the price in terms of playability and is the multiplayer any good? It looks something like Minecraft; a game that I love reading and watching about but when it comes down to actually playing it I just get bored.
aw fuck yeah found a hook
I sort of feel like I cheated a bit.
Me any my friend went from a gold pickaxe to molten pickaxes.
Dig a hole straight to imps
Jump in and grapple at last second
Mine firestone like a bitch until an imp slaugters you.
Did that about 60+ times each.
Feel bad now though. Missed so much content.

That's your decision. You can explore the overworld for a bit and find sweet-ass build spots, search underground for neato treasures, or just pull an Inception and GO DEEPER. Just like Minecraft, it's (mostly) entirely your choice.
Just avoid areas with purple grass and big scary-as-shit monsters for a bit.
Took me about 7 hours to get the 8 gold for a mining helmet. :geno:

Server thread
ARGH! Game crashed after I died, My inventory saved, but my world was an hour or so old version, so I lost all my valuables I had put in a chest. But I was able to go back through the cave I died in a and get everything that was in there again. Duplicates! Woo!
Are dungeon bricks and walls not considered acceptable for NPC buildings?

Been playing for a wee while now, also, if this is of interest to anyone, those are decent sizes for rooms for NPCS, they all came quickly after activating the requirements, plus they come back after dieing. So... Yeah, its a good layout.
Also, in the case of blood moons, as long as the doors to the NPC rooms are closed, they won't die. Zombies seem to forget they can jump.
I just realized... This game reminds me a whole lot of Spelunky. Like, way more than Minecraft.
Randomly-generated tile-based 2D underground environment
Wide variety of rare one-of-a-kind items found underground
Subterranean jungle environment
Constant searching for treasure
Rare "items" that increase your health by 1 point (I say "items" because they're women in Spelunky, but they're basically like items)
Death is always around the corner
Bombs work in a similar way, generating brief light and everything
Lots of items are similar, like bows, guns, jetpack/rocket boots, mattock/pick, spring boots/balloon, and pots and chests.
I really think the game's more comparable to Spelunky than Minecraft. But people see a grid-based environment with removable/placeable blocks and immediately think it's a Minecraft clone.
I don't know if anyone posted something like this before, but I'm surprised I didn't see the similarities until now.
I have to wait a few days before I can buy this now :saddowns: Paypal takes so long to transfer money.
Offtopic, I haven't seen anyone using IE on facepunch yet.
Are dungeon bricks and walls not considered acceptable for NPC buildings?
I think that's the case. My friends and I tried using dungeon bricks and walls to make a small house with a bed in preparation for fighting Skeletor and it wouldn't let us use the bed.
FUCKING GUIDE
he keeps opening all the doors and letting the zombies in
[editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
And now there's a fucking demon eye flying around downstairs, fuck you guide, fuck you.
Oh cool now we can see the OS being used by users too!
Also hooks seem to be REALLY rare. Killed at least 30 skellys, no hook so far. Guess it's just bad luck
It's like when there's a jehovah's witness knocking at the door and he's all like "OH HEY! I'LL LET YOU IN!"
NO GUIDE, YOU DO NOT ANSWER THE FUCKING DOORS FFFFFFFF
[editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
my god this guide is trying to KILL ME
he let a zombie walk RIGHT BEHIND HIM so that I couldn't see it and walked right up to me and let it attack and kill me

I've gotten about 5 hooks in ~20 hours of playtime.
If you bring the guide close to a demon altar, he reveals himself as a Giant demonic slime boss
I talked to him and he said "You should stay indoors at night. It is very dangerous to be wandering around in the dark".
That might work if there wasn't SOMEONE who kept opening all the doors and letting the zombies in
FUCKING TROLL GUIDE
Me and my friend have defeated the eater of worlds!
It was hard but we made it.

i just buried him deep underground. hehehe
i just buried him deep underground. hehehe
Exactly. He's just like that fucking butler in the old Tomb Raider games.
Lock that cunt in the freezer.
