I got this game today, and to be honest, I find it tedious, I think I'm missing something though, would anybody be willing to play multiplayer with me to help me enjoy this game.
Sure, I want to help you.
Give me the IP and the Pass.
Goblin Hordes, undead armies, bosses of insane difficulty, rare items to be found and utilized, huge amounts of accessories, decorations and building blocks. And you think it's tedious? This game has more going for than (dare I say it...) Minecraft!
I'm a proud owner of a Minecraft Alpha account and I've been having more fun these past 3 days with Terraria than I have been with Minecraft recently. Comparing these too to each other, I'd say MC is the tedious one.
Don't misunderstand me, I love both games very much. Just right now, in Minecrafts incomplete stage, Terraria is more fun and more polished. It also looks nicer. More artistic.
Yeah. But for me its more because, well once you find diamond, the fun is over with minecrafty.
Terraria has way more items. More stuff to do and can be more fun online.
oh man cobalt shield is awesome
Hands down the best item in the game so far.
I've been playing LA noire recently and want a nice filler game to play when I take a break. Would this game fit the bill?
Use Hamachi. Create a network, go ingame, multiplayer, start server, world, wait for it to load.
Open another instance of Terraria, multiplayer, join. The server IP is the same as the one you have in Hamachi (shown at the top of the Hamachi window).
For friends to join, have them join your Hamachi server. After that, they can join your server (server IP is still your Hamachi IP, not theirs).

I would. I'm hosting a server right now.
I sent you an invite, but you started ignoring me.

I can't host a server, I was hoping somebody had one.
any good servers online?

Well, that's the thing, I can't get to these things because I have weak tools and armour, and if I dig too deep down in search for ores I get my health pecked away by slimes until I die. I wanted somebody to play with because I was hoping they could help me actually get some progress done.
Every time I try to join MP, it crashes.
Are there any item-cheats for Terraria? I want one cheat-world, and one main-world, without cheats.
So once I finish up my little castle deal should I post it?
Even has a secret escape tunnel :3:
I made a Facepunch Terraria Group on Steam, so its easier for everyone to find a game to join.
Search for "Facepunch Terraria Group" (without the quotes)
Diggin', buildin', killin' slimes.

Oo what??
...
*shrug, continues digging/building/killing*
*night falls*
The Eye of Ctulhu has awoken...
OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT *disconnect*

That would just make the non cheat world boring..
Anyone got a small friendly UK server i can join? possibly teamspeak also?
I guess MP only works with Hamachi yet...
How does difficulty in this game increase? I want to know so I don't accidentally run in to hard shit when I only have a copper sword and copper helmet.
I mean is it by how far away from the start you go? How far underground? What kind of equipment you have or what?

It's pretty much depending on how far underground you are, wether or not you're in a corrupt zone etc. Different zones have different monsters. And random events happen to really make you wish you have that Meteorite Armor hours ago.
Guys I need your help please help me out with this it would be very lovely :
So I want to convince my brother (hes 23 :buddy:) who also loved to play clonk planet with me and loved minecraft to like this game fully. I only showed him the trailer and told him some stuff but the trailer is way to colourful and messy like there is to much going on and colourful but he liked the building parts in the trailer alot, could someone here post a nicer video and/or some nice screenshots which show how the developement is going in this game? Because really when you see that trailer you think you build a house and suddenly shoot monsters with laser weapons in a 6 man team while the screen is a whole mess of projectiles flying around.
Or just post something which would work to make him like this game, I really think myself that he will like this game if he haves the right information (in a video) instead of english text (he is pretty bad at english) and he is 500km away so this is the only way I can interact or have fun together with him like the old times.. which when I think about it now make me sad :smith:

there are let's plays of it
Alright guys.
Probably a stupid place to ask this.
But a few questions:
If I don't like all the Castlevania/Metroid shit, (considering I've only played the ones which are 2002 -), would you still recommend getting it?
I don't have too much money, any way to get the money from sites or doing shit or trading, idk.
Would you say its an awesome, awesome game?
So..I walking around and noticed the sky turning orange and saw the corruption for the first time. Not knowing what to expect I walked near. A couple of those little flying things came out, killed them quickly. Walked near a pit and decided not to jump in. But suddenly a huge devourer worm thing knocked me in. This pit zig zagged all the way down and went all the way to the 3rd layer down. I haven't even been this deep yet. Scared the shit out of me when I got knocked down though. Barely survived getting out of there.
If I had time and enough motivation, I'd try to recreate this in terraria:

If someone wants to take on that challenge, feel free I guess :v:
I keep making mana crystals, but I have never ever used any form of magic. :I

Me house.
at least you will have them for later. I need to make a better house soon. My current one is crap. Not even going to post my current one.
I found an enchanted boomerang. :buddy:
I still can't get a merchant to move in even though I have plenty of money. I got a table, chair and whatnot. Still no luck.
Still unable to play because of my graphics card, and my other computer which has a better (not good, it's intergrated - but it's from this decade.) has absolutely no internet connection because I accidentally snapped the wireless adapter.
Fuck.
