• How to create Portal 2 maps

use [img ] [/img] without the spaces ofc.
It worked now, I used [img_thumb] instead.
My first attempt at making a map that actually has an objective, very simple, no exit and hopefully going to be the beginning of a coop course. [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2011-05-18_00001.jpg[/img] Also that cube is supposed to be back further in the corner.

I didn't take pictures of the last area ( or most areas ) for that matter since its still being worked on. Hopefully I can release it soon though, and it is for co-op.
Hey guys, I have a Sphere that is set to explode upon break and a trigger that breaks it. But nothing happens, am i missing something? nvm fixed it
Do I have to do snd_rebuildaudiocache every time I add a new sound
only if the map is still running I believe.

I'll be preparing some demo maps of my mappack this weekend. So I want to know from the people that are watching on my mappack; what sections should I release? Maybe a few intro chambers as a demo or something?
I've got a map with a couple of Gel tubes going, and I've checked the "allow paints" in the Map Properties and I've tried running RAD at Normal and Fast, but the paints aren't sticking to anything. What am I doing wrong? :saddowns:

I always wondered how Antimatter cubes would be like in the game, so i try and make my own version of them, and ways to activate various things with them, ofc it's just a test atm as i'm a hammer noob, but i'm working on a map right now using these elements :D

When I play the map the picture above happens, the portals spawn out of the map and the cube dissapears.
Earlier the Portal 2 SDK went into "This Game is not available" mode, and now that I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, it's been stuck at "Download Starting" for hours. Help? I've restarted Steam and my computer multiple times.

I'm not sure if that'll help you thogugh

I'll look into it more later, that'd be cool to recreate them.

I'm currently making a puzzle and using a floor button to activate a laser, I place the cube on the button but it doesn't activate the laser. My Output instance:button;OnPressed instance:button;OnUnPressed Target: Off_Laser Off_Laser Target Input: TurnOn TurnOff Any help?
I was panicking over the fact my portals wouldn't activate then I remembered I hadn't made the trigger yet anyway, why does my elevator floor turn black?
