I probably missed this, but how do you solve the "Map with no planes" error?
No,I am using v4,but I just copied that faith plate from coop map,no more editing, just putted it in place.
http://www.mediafire.com/?wnr1j36x6ijdl55
here is my map, where it works.
There is some "????" flag in catapult, because Valve have real Portal 2 fgd,so they have all flags.
So its different if you create it in Alien swarm,or copy it from Valve map.
Can you send me a copy of your fgd?
Before I uploaded v5 mine were working so I must have messed something up on mine :v:
[editline]24th April 2011[/editline]
Check the FGD thread on the mapping section, the zip includes an example map with all the cubes on it. I'll do a minor update later today with a new vmf that includes plates and box droppers as well.
So you need old version? I will upload it if you need
You do, actually. Everything in the trailer was seen in-game somewhere.
I think the trailer had them use one portal gun split but other than that its all in game.
When I get my hands on the official SDK, the first thing I'm going to do is make more 50s chambers. I, personally, loved the style of them.
For now, I'ma just play around.
What's the "Skybox" typically used for broken areas with holes through the roof? When you look through them there's nothing but white light, but what would that texture be called?
Hey Jessecar, do you think you could add a tut on how to make a co-op spawn to the Wiki?

"sky_white"

I was going to make that but there is no animation that is used for the ceiling.
Anyone know how to make the large sphere surrounding all the old test chambers? Is it a model or a brush-based structure?
Hey Jessecar, do you think you could add a tut on how to make a co-op spawn to the Wiki?
i haven't messed with co-op but ill work on it. also updated the home page to look a bit nicer
Anyone know how to make the large sphere surrounding all the old test chambers? Is it a model or a brush-based structure?
pretty sure it's a brush
Anyone know how to make the large sphere surrounding all the old test chambers? Is it a model or a brush-based structure?
Its multiple models, ill make a prefab when I get a chance
Anyone know how to make the large sphere surrounding all the old test chambers? Is it a model or a brush-based structure?
Its model
models/props_underground/geodome_interior_4096.mdl
Edit : Agh,as Jessecar said, its multiple same models, hard to connect.
I will upload prefab in few minutes
Thanks for the assist.

What if you raise the celling then the walls fold down?

Here is prefab of sphere : http://www.mediafire.com/?58qui57coem8zfp
Anyone have a prefab of the *new* box dropper? The one included in the FGD's pack is the old-fashioned one..
Scratch that, I forgot I could select by objects..
Does anyone have a decompiled 'old aperture' test chamber map I can borrow?
Making Co-Op spawns is hard...
Didn't someone make a prefab for a co-op spawn?
Does anyone have a decompiled 'old aperture' test chamber map I can borrow?
Use BSPSource,it works fine.
http://nuclearvelocity.com/barracuda/bspsrc/downloads.html
After reading this thread I decided to make my own map.
My only problem is. I can't figure out how to "put" a portal - able surface on a existing wall instead of creating a plate in front of it, so you can create portals on one area while the other part is nonPortal. Or could I just simply remove a PART of the Wall?
I don't want to delete the Wall :saddowns:
What if you raise the celling then the walls fold down?
It wouldn't give that big feeling if there is a ceiling.
[editline]24th April 2011[/editline]
Somebody give me an idea for something involving a lot of panels.

Just change model to "models/props_backstage/item_dropper.mdl"
If you dont mean that Old Aperture Inovators dropper,it have different function.

So.. has anyone have a fix for the faith plates?
Fearlezz, how did you get it working?
[editline]24th April 2011[/editline]
Why can't I see the models in hammer?

Im using a fgd called portal2.fgd I dont know who's that is. But you need to give the trigger_catapult a target.
Use a info_target and give it a name. Then in the trigger_catapult put the name of the target in the right field. This target is where the player will eventually land unless something is in the way.
