Possible Temp Workaround : go into your portal 2 folder and go into the bins folder and launch hammer.exe from there instead.

I had to decipher the instances (every piece of their instances are instances themselves) and I found that the interior backdrop that they use is actually a toolsblack texture, which blocks player path. I'm not quite sure why they did that. If you move the back wall away, you can walk through the door normally. EDIT: I'm come to the conclusion that the instances for the doors are bugging out. The proxy-relay isn't picking up certain triggers while picking up others, and the blacktools texture backwall is blocking access through the door. Anyone else play around with the doors? Maybe I'm just screwing something up terribly.

Well I'm new to mapping, and I just got the authoring tools(didn't install source SDK, just the portal 2 tools). I've been looking at some guides and I was able to make a room with a spawn point and portal gun, but I get this: [media]http://i.imgur.com/hbiAO.png[/media] The compiler reported no leaks at all. I'm wondering if anyone knows what went wrong. Thanks!

That's why it's displaying black - it can't find a partner door and just does nothing. Also, you cannot set a value for the partner without editing the instances.
