how will multiclassing work exactly anyone know
how will multiclassing work exactly anyone know
You make 1 character and from that 1 character they can get any skills other classes can use. There are 40 classes in the game. You pick your starter class and then discover the other 39 through playing. There's an interview on it.
You can also have opposing classes like Shadowknight and Paladin, but you can't progress both at the same time. You can progress a class that you're not playing, much like diverting AA experience.
The exact details of what you get from each class is unknown at this point.
Also, new Q&A. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxE9jVcCsnY and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNSQgM57qGg

alright thanks for the info
Didn't really give a fuck until I learned it had voxel-based destruction. Now I'm interested.

yeah that's one of the coolest features in the game
I'm looking forward to people building a gigantic moat around a starting city. I know that the world regenerates, but it would be amusing if people fell into the pit.

Fansy needs a server named after him
The Rallying Calls feature sounds pretty cool
Overall SOE has been pretty great with F2P. Not as good as LOTRO or RIFT but it's definitely not Pay2Win.
As a former EQ2 player. They've been really stupid with the SC store.
"Hey. You know this item you guys have been asking for? Well we made it, now it's in the cash shop!"
And they've cut back on events and started placing a lot of that shit into the Cash shop as well.
One thing that's good is that there's a lot of potential in selling cosmetics and other things in EQN since player housing and other player created things will likely be a big focus. The more lucrative that is the less chance they have of straying into more game play altering cash shop items to try and get their moneys worth.
They've also said they want to go with an open form of development, even more so than Planetside 2. Hopefully if there is anything that players might object to then they may listen, the PS2 team did when they nearly implemented implants that could be seen as P2W.

A model like TF2 for player created housing items would be amazing. Housing has taken off pretty well in EQ1 and 2 I believe, so it's very promising.

Jalena's expressions near the beginning remind me of Elizabeth from Bioshock: Infinite.
I actually love the artstyle so much, characters and creatures seem very lively, and the realistic-ish environments make these grand and majestic wonders of the world actually look grand and majestic
Looks pretty good so far, movement animations could maybe use some work. (Probably will improve though with time.)
Glad its free to play. Not glad its on the planetside 2 engine. Although they did say they were trying to make sure it could run well on 4-5 year old machines so there may be some hope.
Love the art style. Those tiger manimals look pretty kickin' rad as well, I'll probably start as one of those. Also I can't wait to use the webcam feature to make my character look like an idiot; I think EQ2 had the webcam feature as well but it was pretty terribad.

Ah! I already thought it was running on said engine. As far as I know it isn't that bad, it can certainly use more optimization, but most lag on PS2 is caused by the sheer amount of people and vehicles going all over the place (even though busy cities in MMO's can also get quite crowded so we will have to see)

Yeah, also I know many complained about the Kerrans but I actually like how they looked
By the way they fixed the error in the Beta Registration page, so anyone who was not able to register till now can try again
Usually I try not to get hyped over a game
But holy shit I'm hyped as fuck

Yeah Planetside 2 has to handle a much more densely populated map, with fast moving vehicles to track, their physics, players and the hit boxes of the head and body, plus bullets over long distances.
The biggest problem with all this is getting it split up into multiple threads, Planetside 2 was developed in about 18 months, so it was obviously rushed out as quickly as possible. It sounds like the Forgelight engine was originally developed for EQN, so they will likely have had a lot more time to get it running smoothly.
Depending on the extent of the sandbox, it's between ArcheAge and EQN

I'd say that the voxel-based world is probably more of a sandbox than the static one.
this thread could use a flashier title and an OP that has more than just links, a picture that's really misrepresentative of the game and an incredibly awkward video

Am gonna be improving the OP
Also, suggestions for a good "flashier" title?
