I downloaded the minecraft update from further up the page but I didn't help. There still is a file I can't download when it updates.

Sorry guys, I can't get the new update entirely, it says failed to extract.
I can't play, Fatal Error(5) Null when I launch. :(

I've replaced my bin and resource with vexx's, but still nothing.
My comp started displaying these weird pixels everywhere. It froze up. When I restarted, a lot of word and stuff where scrambled on the POST and it was bad. I turned off the comp thinking my GFX card broke. Could it be minecraft update? I was in process of DLing it but I highly doubt it was that.

Download the .exe from the minecraft website,

If your launcher is giving you download errors, please update the launcher by downloading the latest version from this page.
minecraft.net
redownload the exe again, even if you just did it!

Free weekend!
First time I've played without going to my friends house, and last time was about 3 updates ago. Just downloaded, new world, turn around and see the following:

Mind = Blown. Gonna build my base up on that flat 'bridge' above. Trust me, it's just as awesome around the left side. Found a dungeon on the right as I spawned, easy stuff. Must get this game.
