The Flint and Steel can assist in fighting hordes, and you can use the lava as a last-ditch effort to cover your tracks while you dig a way out. It also provides good lighting, so you can save your torches when around it. If you can get out alive, try to get those two tools to assist you.

I brought this game for me and my roommate, he has his laptop separate from my PC and different IP. I want to give him my pass so we can play together, or at least play at the same time offline. Is it possible?

Offline may possibly work but I'm not so sure about that either since you have to log in.
