About skylands, he pasted together a bunch of indev floating island maps, and then did a lot of editing to add redstone/clay/those big trees etc. You can do that with MCEdit (I would link but the minecraft forums are down)

So I thought "I'll bet I could make an artificial desert using MC edit by just making a huge fucking block of sand in the sky and making it fall" [IMG]http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s117/Pythagoras64/giantsandblock.png[/IMG] All it needs is a little tap with a shovel and... [IMG]http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s117/Pythagoras64/holyshit.png[/IMG] Perfect! Until it crashed, and now I cant load my save file. I doubt I'll be trying that again any time soon.

It's bizarre how some people can't even fucking read the recipes on Minepedia when they are on the correct page. Minecraft isn't something you can be much of a noob at. Maybe you die the first time because you didn't know you had to hide from monster at night, but then you learn that you want to avoid them, and well, that's all you need to know. Trial and error all the way. When it comes to water flow, bugs and problems with updates it's understandable. But all these trial and error questions are really just weird, all questions can be answered by reading up on Minepedia and only takes a few seconds.

My mining has attracted some friends, 2 creepers, 2 zombies, a skeleton and a spider. All just out of my reach.

I was working on a map with mcedit... i loaded it up cause it was a new map... SLIMES. EVERYWHERE. :byodood:

so if i buy the game, what do i actually get, do i get some key and upgrade my account with it or something along those lines? sites currrently down so i can't check for myself

As of now, my setup is: Iron Door | Iron Door Red o/ Wood | Stairs | Stairs | Red o/ Wood Redstone | P | P | Redstone Would have been a lot better if I could place Redstone on walls.

Most people just go "... perhaps I should ask it"

After paying for it, that account is automatically upgraded and you're good to go.
