Make sure there isnt a space after the ip, it doesnt work if there is one

Same for me, when i spawn the terrain doesn't appear below me, thus making me fall into the abyss.
Does anyone know how me and my friend can play together? We get kicked off with an error always. I have forwarded ports.

Is there any recently restarted, lag-free servers that run SkyLands?

How do you host servers? I've tried the program, no luck.
Notch should add the ability to make wooden gates that fit with fences, normal doors look funny.

Though the server specs seem pretty awesome!
skylands is interesting, it requires a change of tactics.
you need armour, a sword, one stack of cobble, some wood and some torches when exploring, but you only need a helmet and boots made of leather and a good pickaxe when mining.
you need to do it this way, because if you drop you can't afford the iron armour AND the diamond pickaxe.

What was added/changed that was so big that caused the website to go down, and other large problems to arise?

It wasn't so big, it caused the site to go down. Instead, so many people downloaded the update at the same time, it DDOS'ed the minecraft.net server. I believe he's trying to get a stronger server, but the old website should be up again tomorrow.
