Would my idea be better if you had to put 3 or 4 redstone dusts onto a sign to make it the compass target?

So I'm playing Minecraft at uni instead of learning Huffman encoding and was killed by a spider whilst looking for wood, carrying an iron pickaxe. I went back to pick up everything and got everything except the pickaxe - which had turned into an apple? :ohdear: The data values are only 3 apart (257, 260) - coincidence? I think not!

Man, I was exploring some caves someone else had mined out and fell into a really deep 1 x 1 pit and ended up in a room with bedrock and blue hole patches between the bedrock. I step in one and end up falling through the void. I thought the entire bottom of the map was coated in bedrock?

Building a home at the bottom of the world was the worst idea ever. It seemed cool at first because the entrance is a fucking lava tunnel, but I keep getting those creepy sounds from neighboring caves. A creeper even appeared on my steps once and I'm sure I flooded all exposed caves with torches. It feels like somebody's behind me all the time down there, and in a panic attack I walled up all the caves, even though they're still filled with ore. Nobody's gonna get me now. Better safe than sorry. Better safe than sorry. :tinfoil:

The best levels to mine on are 11-17.

I think I might be doing it wrong, but how do you get your clay balls back from the block? I tried just the single block like with the iron/gold/diamond blocks.

Just break the clay block with your fist and four balls of clay should pop out unless I'm misunderstanding you here.

Isn't the name redundant? I mean mining is a craft and an act of crafting so it's like craftingcraft.

Technically, you can't actually MINE in the paid game until you CRAFT a pickaxe, and you use the materials you MINEd to CRAFT better tools or different blocks. It's probably just another redundant redundancy in a sea of redundance.
