This free weekend thing really worked out for the best. People may have pirated the game somehow from this free weekend, but that there is pure sales. I'm so happy for notch, his little game that started as a little webtoy ended up being this great, amazing, popular game. And I feel so warm about it knowing I was there from the start :D

Notch did say that he would add texture pack compatibility where you could possibly choose which ones to have by putting them in a folder and accessing them through an in-game option. I can't wait for that.

If it seems to lock up when you click login don't do anything (and I mean anything) for 15-30 seconds. Then if it still doesn't do anything, close it and try again.

what are some good ways to increase fps? i have graphics mode set on lowest, draw distance on normal, but i still get lag spikes now and then.

Player skins don't work most of the time now, and texture packs reset every now and again and the game redownloads the original files for seemingly no reason. I'm assuming it's a serve related problem with not being able to access the database where player skins are kept.

I think minecraft.net is down again. Which would explain the trouble logging in and the lack of skins.

Are we allowed to upload the MC.exe file? because the one on the main page is borked and I'm pretty sure a few people need the new one to play.
