Get in game (not menu)
Hold f3
Press s

Should I get a message or something?
I hold F3 and the FPS is shown, and when I press s it just makes me backpedal as normal and nothing happens.

Go into your settings and see if your volume is up, sometimes it sets it off.
Something funny happened to me:
I was "digging" a room for my torch crafting and storing, and I found coal while doing that
I'm going to move to a cave vacation house.

Wow, that was amazingly timed.
I was listening to some DnB while playing and right when my music faded, the calm2.ogg played.
This game is so great, it's magical. :3:

Thanks! :buddy:
I just bought the game, but it has a terrible memory leak. I know Minecraft uses a lot of memory but its at the point where the game is stuttering and I dont have any sounds, then it just crashes. I've tried the f3+s thing but that doesnt seem to work. It also does it on the browser version as well.

How much of a memory leak for you?
Most mine has ever gone up to was 1.2GB.
Cool, glad to help those who were having problems.
And hehe, what operating system? If you're using vista/7 try running as an admin.

Its varies, at the start its about 500mb then once i start walking around its goes up to about 800mb.
I had a look on the mine craft forums, a lot of people seem to have a similar problem.
W7 runs things as admin by default on admin accounts, if you're getting memory leaks on either of those systems it's likely something hardware related.

I've run it off my desktop which is Windows XP and on my laptop which is vista, which I ran as administrator.
You guys have to remember, notch is doing something with java that really wasn't meant to be done, so there will be memory leaks.

The only other thing I can think of is trying using the "other" minecraft client. Should be below the regular client on minecraft.net.
Dunno if anyone has seen this chart before, but it's better than the other circle charts that I've seen.

Im going to post my expedition when I get back home.

Can someone post a skin sheet with a place as reference to put my hat? The default skin layout doesn't show me where to put my hat..
Any way to fix the sounds?

Hmm, I put my headgear in the right spot; just above the arms and next to the back of the head, but it doesn't show in the model viewer in the skin viewing page of Minecraft.
