That is all.
They are about to get a lot of popularity

Paaaaaaaaaage kiiiiiiiiiiing
I bought the game and played it for about a month. Once I got a Tier 4 weapon, the game wasn't even challenging anymore. Like everyone else said, amazing concept, shitty execution. (At least on the gameplay aspect)
EA Quality at its finest. Thats why I don't buy EA games.
Uhh, EA was just the publisher... That and they've gotten much better in recent years. This is all RTW's fault.

The server is not online yet but when it does come online I bet a shit ton of people will play on it.
Action District = Completely Free APB? May be worth a look, but regardless I don't like the game.
Ouch, the devs must feel like shit now :saddowns:
I tried the beta, although it has shittons of bugs and unfair matchmaking, it does have potential. I really liked the character creation.
Sad to see it die so quickly.
Well shit I'm fucking glad I didn't preorder it now
If RTW actually listened to the feedback they were getting, this wouldn't have happened.
Woah......
What the fucking fuck. Bought the game 2 days ago. Bought some time. Fucking danmit danmit.
DANMIT.
Christ, they should've given a few days' notice at least
I feel bad that any company is going out of business, but at the same time APB had so many issues when it was released (mostly balance/matchmaking related) I almost feel like they deserved it.
It was a fun game during the beta, but also noticeable that it wasn't gonna be around for long..
The massive lag really turned people off, otherwise it would've been a decent game.
Too bad for EA I guess now that they've pumped millions into it after the last time it was gonna shut down.
Why don't they just release the server files and let people play dedicated servers?
They can't, thanks to Unreal.
I put over 200 hours into it and I feel like I easily got my money worth. Many other games I spent 60$ on I didn't spend HALF that time in it.
I would buy this if I could host a 40 player server and fix some of the problems the game had.
I still have absolutely no idea what the game was about.
I still have absolutely no idea what the game was about.
Too difficult to explain, you'd have to had played it to understand. I loved the gameplay and the whole idea behind it. I was considering creating a Multi Theft Auto ( San Andreas version ) gamemode based on APB. I'd require fellow coders and some modelers but it'd be an epic project. Also, MTA itself has 3 or 4 features that'd need to be repaired to working state before we could do a few things, such as skinnable cars. I mean, it's a POSSIBLE project. I know everything that needs to be done to get it done, except I lack C knowledge and any sort of modeling 'skill'.
I hope brink doesn't go this way :ohdear:
At least Brink has both multi- and singleplayer, so if the servers get shut down you can still play singleplayer.
But dammit I hope it won't happen. :ohdear:
I preordered as soon as I saw it on Steam.
Make it open source.
Not surprised there, who'd pay 10 dollars to pay 10 hours or something along those lines? their prices were incredibly insane.
Not suprised.
The way they done it didn't really fit the MMO model too well...
I bought this on release too. It was pretty shit. I put in 3 hours and quit. Kinda glad to see it die, but still sad I wasted $50 :frown:
It's not like we didn't see it coming. http://kotaku.com/5615250/apbs-studio-is-nearly-doa

What're you smoking, it was the total opposite. It was something like $5 for ~20 hours (For casuals) or $10 for a month. Cheap for a pay to play MMO.

You could also pay for game time using the in-game RTW points which you could make by selling things to others for them, so if you stayed ahead of the curve you might've never needed to pay for game time. I never had to.
I could see this game flopping from miles away.
So Epic games has shown interest in purchasing the game. Wonder what this leads to.

Damn I was going to buy this when I got my new pc, it sounded brilliant.

Good. Maybe they can fix the game and optimize it. Seriously it ran really bad on my system when it should have run great. It would stutter every time I turned the camera.
Specs:
AMD Athlon II X2 2.7ghz
6gb DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GT240 512mb GDDR5
Not to mention it took forever to load other people's custom paint jobs on their cars. And it's not exactly like I have slow internet, I max out at 400kb/s download, which is higher than the requirement (that it said on the back of the game case) for the game.
Are you on a 32bit OS? Game always had problems with 32.
