It's way different, L4D is more fast paced and you can run without releasing the trigger, the accuracy stay the same. In KF, you have a more realistic approach, with recoil on weapons and slower zombies.
They're both completely different kinds of being not even fucking close to realism.
They did sort of half-ass the L4D1 maps in L4D2 though. Last I checked, the character rigging wasn't fixed. Plus they didn't add the L4D1 zombies, so you had all the L4D2 zombies running around, which wasn't bad, but the L4D1 horde was a part of the story. In L4D everyone was still dressed for business (policemen, soldiers, nurses, workers) because the outbreak swept through so quickly that nobody outside of quarantine knew they were infected. Meanwhile in L4D2 there's a different story, everyone dressed in a more casual manner because nobody was working, everyone was trying to get Evac'd instead (I presume military and police got first cuts in this case).

Finally somebody understand the situation, also not only the character rigging is messed up, a lot of animations are missed (hunter wallkick and survivors incap aiming backwards for example)
The spitter and jockey doesn't fit in l4d1 design, same goes with melee weapons out of place (katana in nomercy, yeah sure)
Summer zombies, frying pans, boomer bile, jockey and spitter funny design in l4d1 maps, defibrillators....
