Whenever I'm in a bomber and a shitload of flak/turret fire is coming my way, I always think of the scene in Star Wars where the fat guy is trying to take out the Death Star.

I pretty much always get the bomb off though. Make it back 3/4 times.
There are quite a few people on the server at the moment, I'm trying to get them to make an announcement...

Fly up to 4 o'clock or higher and you will make it back 4/4 times.

They usually start out quite even, but then suddenly everyone on one team decides to leave.

This game would benefit greatly from a removal of those tall boys.
Should we perhaps outlaw Tallboys so large bombing raids are more important?
There is no way of enforcing such a rule, since there are no moderating functions like kicking and banning in this game.

They make it too easy. I can take of from an airfield, fly to an enemy base, hit their capitol directly and destroy it in 1 hit and then fly back safely without being shot since I flew over the maximum range for the AA.
Yeah i find it more fun with 4 bombs as well, the flak can push them off course and that makes bombing a bit more challenging.

I just think AA needs to fire faster, and gunboat need to fire faster/have more ammo.
If AA fired faster, it might not knock many more guys out of the sky, but it'd shake them around enough to make accurately dropping tall boys difficult. Saturation bombing would become more useful.
Just fly above AAA alt. 4:30 on the altimeter is enough.
AA needs to do less damage but fire much higher.
At the moment it's like if you are within the AA's range, you get instakilled, if you're above the AA's range, you always survive, there's no middleground.

It wouldn't help. When you fly high enough the AA doesn't even fire at you, so the tall boy hits dead on no matter what.

Yeah that's something I was thinking about too. The vertical range of the AA could be increased, and the damage decreased.
I personally think gunboats should shoot more rapid/faster traveling bullets so they can actually be a threat to enemy aircraft.
I personally think the trading system could use a little bit of tweaking. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but more often then not I find myself spending more time flying cargo between islands than fighting. The ability to hire AI to trade would be pretty neat, I think, but I'm not sure how that would affect balance.
It's all about paying attention to when it's profitable to trade. I see a lot of people buying goods at an island when the price is 14 or 15 per unit, making it pretty much a waste of time.
You should get assloads of money for trading at an enemy island.
