[sp]I mean, there where a fair number of bodies, so i wonder why they decided to die, rather than, say, go to ground, work out a plan, try and escape the planet, or survive as long as possible and indulge in a wee bit of geurilla warfare.[/sp]
[sp]Yeah, a handful of spartans verse an entire invading covenant armada? How dare they even THINK of dying![/sp]
Firefight Matchmaking would be so awesome if it didn't have that lag. It's impossible to get anything done with that slowness.
Once again it was the final stand. There were no more ships left, the PoA was the last one so now all those spartans were left there and they figured fight off as many covenant as possible.
Too bad that you couldn't participate in the fight for the buried relic under CASTLE base.

I feel your pain. Fuck SWAT, it's awful. It was good in Halo 3 with the BR but the DMR in this game is just terrible.

I like SWAT but it's rarely it's on the options , and i like the DMR too cause it's much more challenging trying to wait for the reticule to decrease while trying to get a headshot before the opponent.
Oh, well, in that case, its not creepy, its just plain daft.

Yeah, they can hide behind giant chunks of glass after the Covenant melt the planet's surface, destroying the environment, bodies of water and filling the atmosphere with ash and soot from the flames. Considering it only takes around a few hours to accomplish this, I highly doubt they could outrun the plasma lances.

Indeed. I'd love to do some AI killing all day long but man, the delay just fucking ruins everything. It's just unplayable.

The low-res textures. They hurt.
I wish there was armor like that for my spartan :saddowns:

I like that the DMR takes more skill than the BR, but it's bullshit how some idiot can spam the trigger as fast as possible and still get a lucky headshot and kill you when you were timing your shots.
While I agree that the textures on marines are pretty low res, you have to admit in terms of actual detail they've never been better.
You cant have both detail and texture. (at least right now)

I just got Reach today and played 3 missions. Is the entire campaign as boring as the first 3 missions or does it actually get good at some point?

Well if you like space combat/flying Falcons/witnessing surprising plot twists, then yes.

ALOT better after the first few missions.

SWAT doesn't deserve to be in the options you are lucky.
SWAT shouldn't even be in BTB!
What the fuck, in a BTB Game with a Lt. Colonel Grade 2.
Lives are needed.
For the sake of potential spoilers, I'll tag the important info.
I was wondering why, on "Lone Wolf" there were [sp]dead Spartans and Marines lying there[/sp], so I read through First Strike, and I think I found their identites.
[sp]"Team Delta—" Fred highlighted the wounded Spartans and the four Marines on the roster. "—fall back to this location." He uploaded a tactical map of the area and set a NAV marker in a ravine sixteen kilometers north. "Take two Warthogs, but leave them and stealth it if you encounter any resistance. Your mission is to secure the area. This will be the squad's fallback position. Keep the back door open for us."
They immediately acknowledged. The Spartans knew that ravine like the backs of their hands. It wasn't marked on any map, but it was where they'd trained for months with Dr. Halsey. Beneath the mountain were caverns that the Office of Naval Intelligence had converted into a top-secret facility. It was fortified and hardened against radiation, and could probably withstand anything up to and including a direct nuclear strike. A perfect hole to hide in if everything went sour.[/sp]
That's the only finding so far that makes sense. Some of the details are off, of course, now that Reach released, but all in all, things connect. The two turrets, the equipment, I think I remember vehicle wreckage all around. The only things off, I think, are their appearances and location.
Where is this slot machine? I'm getting behind on the thread, anything good in the last 10 pages or so?

Just some random credit giver thing that happens after every matchmaking game.

Holy shit, I am only Warrant Officer Grade 2 since i have school and other stuff.

You can, but consoles just have limitations.
Hey, one thing I've been wondering about the S-IIIs.
Did they volunteer, are they conscripts, or were they kidnapped for great justice?
IIRC they were asked if they want to kick some Covenant ass, and due to their families being dead due to the invasion pretty much all accepted. A six year old mind responds pretty well.

When you finish a multiplayer game you get credits in 4 catagories:
Performance (It's for kills and medals)
Commendations (How many Cr depends on how much you work on your commendations, getting a new level earns a bonus)
Challenges (Points given for completing daily and weekly challenges)
Slot Machine (A random number, usually 10x, 35x or 777, though the numbers can vary vastly)

So a combination of A and C then.

[sp]It's not them. The forest got glassed, even if they got away, they'd be dead. It's probably S3's from Gamma Company that were on Reach for whatever reason, given surplus MJOLNIR gear since the place was getting trashed anyway. [/sp]

More just A because they knew they'd die if they didn't take it up.
