Everyone thinks its the Cataclysm beta test. There's really absolutely nothing to test besides the UI and Talent/Skill changes.

I just checked, and I can reach it fine.
Can you ping ak.worldofwarcraft.com.edgesuite.net to see if you can even reach it?

I'm downloading the installer. The downloader says 97.1MB/97.1MB and it says it's closing, but it's been stuck like this for almost an hour. It won't close without force quit. The installer and installer tome are in the folder I downloaded them too, but upon opening them I get the streaming error.
I have no idea, wait till there's a FAQ on the official forums

You can select your WoW1 or WoW2 account afaik

Won't let me, when I use my bnet email and password it just logs me into the game, can't change between accounts and when I copied characters, one from each account, they're both there when I log in. :(

That new strike will probably go into any free GCD that you have at the time it's available.
The new strike will probably bump Bloodthirst if anything.
So it seems its so big because your basically downloading a whole client and not a patch...

i always have had a seperate account for ptr,
ptr is wow1
cata is wow2
i only got mine this morning, wow1 gives beta realms wow2 gives ptr realms
