why do we have enigma (bar his jungling and support capabilities) when we have magnus
"man these heroes are redundant if you ignore the fact that they have totally different roles and fit into different lineups!"
their skillset isn't even similar other than the ult
Lion's ult scales less in damage the higher levels it gets, but gets much more spammable. A Scepter is practically never viable on Lion, but /can/ be in some situations for Lina.

scepter, refresher and veil of discord on lina
no health allowed
veil of discord
you are never gonna have time to open with a veil cast, you will have to throw your stun or nuke immediately b4 they run away, and if there are other people in your team that stuns and locks them down, the guys stunned will prob die without the veil's additional damage amplification anyways.
The reason why veil is not really an impressive item isn't because the active sucks because it doesnt, it's because the buildup kinda sucks for the heros that would get it (support/nukers)

When they *do* get it though, brace yourself. Jakiro with a Veil is fucking scary and with a little positioning and luck can wipe an entire team on his own.
Why? It's intelligence, armor and hp regen. All of those benefit squishy supports and nukers, because armor is never bad.

They're expensive and have no significant benefit to yourself that makes you better. Helm makes you a little tankier but not enough to matter for most supports - Ogre being one of the few exceptions.
yeah I like veil but it's so awkward to build - early on, for the price you could get drums which has far better stats (and an easier buildup) or ghost scepter to counter right clickers; later on, the stats are pretty worthless.
btw, how does veil interact with pure damage? does that get amplified too?
btw, how does veil interact with pure damage? does that get amplified too?
Pure is not magic, so no
Pure is not magic, so no
Pure is actually a type of magic damage. But it's unaffected by magic resistance/amplification so Veil has no effect.
If the enemy team has no significant source of magic damage, why would we need a Pipe?
Then the enemy team is shit in which case it doesn't matter. You also get the hood mainly for the HP regen, so your argument falls flat anyway. You shouldn't build it into a pipe until waaaaay later since there's several items that are much, much more important on Bristleback.
Besides, it doesn't make vanguard any less useless of an item. Build a heart or something instead then.
I just hate how Lion and Lina pretty much have the same ult.
Lion's does more damage earlier and has a longer range, and the only part that really scales for it is it's cooldown, the damage doesn't increase significantly.
Lina's does more damage later but has a shorter range (without scepter), the damage scales and starts with a much lower cooldown.

yeah exactly, they're superficially similar but lina's gets a lot better in the late game which synergises well with the rest of her kit, while lion's is an early game bastard much like he is.

Never said it made Vanguard any less useless, just that that is one of the very few situations where it's actually viable.
Right, another question then. Orchid plus pure damage, do those stack?
If i'm playing shadow demon mid, i might try orchid. since double amplification plus ultimate kiting (and some decent extra right click dps, which isnt bad at all for sd)
As for redundancy, dagon 5 when you dont have any other core item
They do. Orchid simply amplifies any damage gotten during the silence regardless of the damage type. Keep in mind however that Orchid's damage is dealt as Magical.
Orb of venom on venomancer. An extra 4% flo slow and 12 damage over 4 seconds isn't even worth 275g.

Bloodseeker is a niche Weaver counter.
Shadow Blade on Clinkz, Bounty or Riki

RIP Lothars Gondar.
He was the best.
Shadow Blade on Clinkz, Bounty or Riki
I remember the good ol' days of the shadow blade bonus being multiplied by bounty's crit
it was actually legit back then but now it's not rip

I thought HP auras dont stack
I thought HP auras dont stack
on themselves but vlads and vampiric aura are separate i guess so they work together

so SK building vlads is viable? i mean hes durable as fuck and the damage amp is nice for him.
so SK building vlads is viable? i mean hes durable as fuck and the damage amp is nice for him.
it's a pub thing in a sense but it will actually work correctly if you do it
Vlads on the same team as SK is quite effective if you get it late game and don't waste one of SKs slots.
15% damage as well as more lifesteal is nothing to look down on if you got 200 base autoattack damage and crits.
I once got Vlads on Tiny when I had 350 damage and that was 50 damage for next to nothing (Albeit it'd be preferable if someone else carried it)
