While you have the right to complain, not buying it for that is just stupid. You remind me of my friend who hated Skate because the water wasn't realistic.
Lol, car damage is your selling point.
it's the fact that racing games need features to separate themselves from other games, and if the devs show incompetence, they're not getting my money.
common sense is not prevalent in 95% of game developers.
What a shit OP for such great games.

I prefer GT4 to Forza, so their hardly incompetent.
While I do realize how much I loved GT, the fact that they made it use the X and Square buttons for acceleration and brakes pisses me off. How the fuck am I supposed to brake correctly if I have to slam on them.
You don't want to buy GT5 just because the damage isn't realistic?
Then, you can just fuck off.
hey guys let's make a racing simulator but leave out a giant part of the simulation
it's this kind of thinking that doesn't get them my money.
let's make a first person shooter, but leave out killing people. let's just focus on the realistic performance and looks of just the guns and environment.

i'm pretty sure you can use the triggers. i remember back in the day i could use the x and square pressure sens just as well as triggers nowadays, now i can't. :[

don't forget the part about 80% of the cars being half assed
i'm pretty sure i sank you with my ~research~

I've been changing accel/brake to right analog stick forward/back
Gives much better feeling for the brake's, and it's so much easier to drive high powered cars like the Minolta/Gt-ONE, because if you use the buttons, you have to 100% the throttle basically, which results in some serious wheelspin, super bad around corners.

Erm...you could always change the controls. I used to find using the right stick for brake/throttle gave the most control.

I'm buying this game fo sho. This releases a week before Black Ops, I think black ops will have to wait a while.

Same plan here.
I don't care about damage, I have my PS2 sitting next to my PS3. The only game I play on it is GT4, which I probably play at least once a week and I'm still buying new cars in the game, on my save that I've played on over four years.
I'd be perfectly happy with GT4 in HD on my PS3 :v:
really gt doesn't surprise me, it doesn't look like anything new but eye candy.
I'm happy it has damage physics. I remember back to the days of GT2, where there was no damage at all.
...and GT3, and GT4.

of which 80% are ps2 models with no interiors. no.
If they were to model in incredible detail 1000 cars I would hate to think of what the development time would be THEN.
The fact is, it will have upgraded models of older games along with epic premium ones, I have no dissatisfaction with that.
It will cover many styles of racing, many tracks (including the motherfucking Top Gear track!), and have awesome online.
Stop whining.
if they detailed 1000 cars i wouldn't care how long it took
also gj being an average kid who says "stop whining" to any criticism of the game
forza has better sound, more lively gameplay, and more customization. better. sorry

Says the kid with a blatant dislike to this game because it doesn't have 100% correct damage model or picture perfect interiors for 1000 cars.
You haven't played the full GT5 yet, so therefore you cannot comment on what is better or worse than other games in the genre.
I don't mind people giving criticism if it is constructive or worth putting into the foray.
To just say 'This game sucks, it doesn't have 1000 detailed interiors and damage model', isn't exactly helping anything.
The fact is, price vs performance I am sure it will deserve the money paid for it and offer countless hours of fun, more so than any other driving games out at the moment or foreseeable future.
GT5 seems like a disappointment to me. I loved gt2 and have (some) high hopes left for this, but every time i read about a new detail it get's worse. They delayed it for so long and it's still so unfinished. I'd rather have them delay the game even more and finish it properly.
I hope they still have the cockpit camera, even though it has no interior (all blank).
Just like GTPSP.
And do any of you guys remember the SVX and Eunos Cosmo, along with other tuned cars, kit cars from GT2?

Stop comparing this to Forza.
Forza is nothing more of an inspiration rather than a game.
I preordered the special thing so long ago. I can't wait till it comes out.
So much for being a launch title. I'm a huge GT-fan, but I've been having a lot more fun with Forza.
I even bought an Xbox just to play Forza...
It saddened me to hear that Sony cut corners with their cars. Either make them ALL hugely detailed with interiors, or not. Consistency is key.
"But it would take so long!", you say.
Then hire a larger development team. It's already been... how many years?
In the time it took GT to come out (even if it makes it's November release), Micro$oft has released *three* Forza games. (Since GT4, that is).
I hate to say it, but I know a better product when I see one... :/
P.S. I have the GT5 Collector's edition pre-ordered.

What the fuck does this even mean?
it doesn't have to be perfect it just needs common sense
durr how 2 lok at crashs on google.jp
Common sense? you're really an idiot aren't you?
sadly, at least 200 of them will be skylines/evos/stis/rx7s/rx8s/etc.

Forza doesn't have go-karts you lose automatically

doesn't have to be perfect, nice job with the 100% perfect fallacy, kid. it's the fact that the devs half assed it. i don't buy games anymore because 98% of game devs are dumb.
oh well, back to forza
hope you enjoy 20% of your game

ok, got me there.
sadly, at least 200 of them will be skylines/evos/stis/rx7s/rx8s/etc.
yeah i know, they'll be all omg kawaii dorifto initial D ^o^ cars, not cool, obscure (or just every day cars), original cars.
it'll be like forza and be nothing but fuckoff supercars and whiny ferraris.
To everyone that keeps bitching about GT5: Shut up, it's your loss, and your loss only. Don't like it? fine, don't buy, don't play. Trust me, you won't be missed.
I'm eager to get it, sounds fantastically good, specially with my G25.
sadly, at least 200 of them will be skylines/evos/stis/rx7s/rx8s/etc.
Because it's a Japanese game.
Because it's a Japanese game.
And Amplar, will you stop bitching and enjoy the game?
He's not bitching; he's criticizing the game.
If you weren't being so defensive you'd realize that and actually try to understand what he's saying.
In Gran Turismo's defense, I have always liked their driving model more than Forza's; though it was realistic, each Forza game changed their driving model and there was at least one thing about it that really pissed me off in online games. Cars in Forza 1 and 2 felt too lightweight, and felt as if they slid more in Forza 2. Forza 3 finally got the weight to feel right, but it's nearly impossible to drive high-powered FWD or RWD cars without the tires spinning with the slightest amount of throttle. I also found the fictional tracks on Gran Turismo to be more enjoyable.
However I always liked Forza more because of its controls (triggers instead of buttons, no analog accel/decel), and the vast amount of customization that can go into your car. You can customize the actual tuning of your car or make an incredibly complex paintjob with vinyls. I also like how you can auction cars off and make credits off of your creativity. The damage was always one of my favorite aspects of the game, though I always wished you could completely wreck your car and have to forfeit from the race (similar to GRID). Sadly, it seems they toned down the damage simulation in Forza 3 as body parts don't break off of the car as easily as they used to.
But looking at both games, I particularly enjoy how they provide a realistic driving model with a large amount of vehicles with customizable performance, and how the racing itself isn't too strict (no flag system, etc..).
The funny thing is, nowadays I seem to enjoy PC racing games more (which I play with a 360 controller). I feel GRID isn't too arcady nor realistic, and a lot of things can be changed to cater to your style of play. Whenever I want to play something more realistic, I can buy Live for Speed, or any game by SimBin, which I haven't even done yet because I am enjoying GRID so much.
hey look! Another game thread!
DRAMA.
damn, too late.

Oh well, I guess you're right.
I can sense incoming boxes to me.
And Amplar, why don't you try the demo once it's out?
Actions before words (or something like that)
