Gearscore? i've just read what this is for for the first time in this thread, i stopped playing wow before wotlk because it was dead to me.
If any of you had played before battlegrounds were introduced, you'd know what i was talking about.
This is just another nail in the coffin, soon there wont be any room left for more, they will have to start using glue or something.
my gs is 5875, but the highest i've seen on frostmourne is 6700~

gearscore is simply an addon that someone made that makes a quick calculation of your gear so you can easily find people who have proper gear for harder raids it's nothing bad except for the people who take it way too seriously

what are you talking about? battlegrounds were introduced in a patch early in the game, before that there was always battles at tarren mill / southshore.

On my realm we have a hunter with a 5997 gearscore.

My rogues sitting at 6.1k, as well as a lot of other people having 6k+ scores.
Coincidentally the only people I've seen who hate GS are the ones too inept to get a score good enough to do anything. But of course, because you know how to play it means you should be allowed into ICC25 with mostly Blues...[b]OR NOT[/b].

I have a Holy Paladin on the server Velen with 5.5, and the server has a guild that recruits all the best geared players on the server, currently they have a Paladin with full Wrathful Gladiators and tops out at 6.6

Gear does limit your abilities, and Gearscore just shows your average limits depending on the gear tier you have.
I don't have the gearscore addon. Only idiots use it, some just have it so they can get into pugs. I only join pugs where the leader isn't a moron. I.e he doesn't ask for GS.
