Is it even possible to directly launch a game created on the N64 or something from Steam by having the 'Play Game' feature launch into the emulator that will then automatically launch into the game?
AKA: Say I want to play The Legend of Zelda. Would I be able to add the game to Steam in a way that when Steam launches it, the game would automatically open in an emulator (hence it launches from Steam to Zelda, rather than manually opening the game in the emulator).
I'm saying this due to the fact that there are banners for games that can only be opened by an emulator.
I would set up shortcuts for each game I want on Steam, which are set to launch the emulator with the rom file passed along.
Normally it should have some support for launch commands.
Project64 supports loading specific roms if you add the adress to the rom at the end of the shortcut.

Add your emulator as a non-steam game and edit the shortcut so it reads like so:
"C:\Emulator\Emulator.exe" "C:\Games\Game.whatevs"
Replacing each with the path to the emulator and the game respectively.
