On windows XP, Vista, or 7 you can just goto run (or the search thing in the start menu for Vista/7) and type in %appdata% to find it then navigate to the Minecraft folder.

I have an idea for a texture pack. It's pretty in-depth though if you want to hear it.
I'm yet to see a texture pack that is better than the stock textures.

Tried Painterly? I really like the stock textures as well, but every once in a while I load up Painterly and it looks wonderful.

Not much variety compared to the stock textures... Honestly the only difference I see is dirt. Looks nice, though.

Thats a small before and after comparison. Click them to see full-size. It's not a major reskin, my goal is to make it look smoother and a bit cartoonish.
How do I upscale from 16 to 32? Photo shop just smooths everything when up-sizing.
I think I'm going to buy this in the near future.
Question: is it a smart thing to sort of make a quarry outside your base instead of making a cave/mineshaft

When you upscale in photoshop there is an option at the bottom that should say Bicubic, click on it and change it to Nearest Neighbor
