I would've actually mined into the obsidian, but I wasn't carrying a diamond pickaxe with me. Well, you know how it goes.

Just did the most elaborate troll yet.

I started a treasure hunt where one clue will lead to another one etc. After like 10 steps and clues it leads you to this one big wooden house, and on top of that house is a lava spawner hidden in some stone blocks. The clue says to destroy one of those blocks.

Well anyways an admin was doing the treasure hunt and ended up catching the house on fire after he destroyed a block. He was frantically trying to mop up the lava but it was too late. Admin griefed his own server.

How deep do you have to go to reach an actual mine? I've spent the last hour trying to make a mine shaft. It's like 40 cubes deep and I've yet to find a cave.

Expand out as well as down. I find it easiest to just find a surface mine and keep digging in from there.

1 hour? 40 cubes? Are you using your fists?

Also, they occur randomly at different levels. You should look around for open entrances on the surface.

I made it 4 cubes wide and 4 cubes tall in anticipation of getting mine carts from the stockpiles of ore I'd find.

They are everywhere when you're not looking for them. If you're 40 blocks down just go outward.

With the amount of time it takes to set up a good screenshot showing off his work, along with updating the page, he might spend an hour trying to show off a good example and not work on the update. He's the only dev right now, so I think Maybe every week might be fine.
