Any tips to finding huge caves? I'm usually walking around for too long and not finding any which goes deep enough.
Because of this thread, I went from that guy that browses FP sometimes and has something like .4 to 1.1 posts per day, to that guy in the minecraft thread that has almost 4 posts per day. :v:
Oh, and does anyone else get their framerate raped when the make the mincraft window fit their screen?

Mine diagonally downward in one direction, if you hit bedrock with no caves, do the same in the opposite direction, etc. You could make a pit mine too, those uncover caves pretty well. If all else fails just give up and use that fancy X-Ray program posted a page back.

I rarely find huge caves. I just make my own.

My Open Pit Excavation Plan has succeeded. Now to clear out the spiders and take the dungeon.
I went after four gold ores that were half submerged in stationary lava after carefully sealing it off from the rest of the lava lake, but a small opening allowed the lava in, instantly incinerated my body and vaporized everything in my inventory, particularly my 8 diamond gems and 84 iron ore.
It reminded me why I don't gamble.

I found my first last night. I was mining underground and I heard a wierd noise, it took me 10 minutes to find what was making the noise, sadly is was on a MP server so I couldn't kill it.

Okay, minecraft is unplayable. It goes from 200fps for about 30 seconds right down to 4fps, but it feels like less. Any help? It doesn't usually do this.
