Yes, if you run out of supplies and need smelting, I keep chests in my outposts for wood and torches.
Long winding tunnels are bad if you can't find your way out, if they are man-made of course.

Long winding tunnels are okay as long as you can find your way around them.
Mid-mine outposts aren't necessary but they are helpful.
There is a surprising amount of redstone down here...
It´ll be coming out of your ears if you are mining on level 19-20-21. The last vein i´ve found was 14 blocks big.
What was the biggest vein of ore you´ve ever found?
Mine was 52 coal. v:v:v

You just have to be smart about it- head out and take note of the direction in relation to the sky. Head in the same direction of the clouds, or the direction in which the sun rises. A redstone compass is just a bonus.

35 Iron for sure. It was behind a 4 X 3 section of coal, then it turned to iron ore and just went straight back. I now have full iron armor and back up tools and weapons!
5 x 5 room of iron

What I do is only make torches on the left side of caverns as I go out, so I just always keep the torches on my right while going back and I get there.

Finished construction on my church in Profanes Server.
God, I hope people don't troll it. D:
also, I take up a large space of Knoll. I feel sort of bad.
Also also, I wish we could set up another town of sorts that we can all stay together because now everybody is just building in random parts of the map and it isn't as much fun anymore. But that would be too much work and Knoll is in a perfect place. hmmm
Starting to make a giant underwater glass dome, any tips?
use dirt to fill it up. start at the top, and work down until you dont have much space left. then dig all the dirt away. basicly, place dirt then remove it, if done layer by layer top to bottom the dome will have no water in it.
