So. You think your cactus farm is efficient? Did you know that if you have your cactus in cross formations then the harvested bits may fall into other cactus and be destroyed? Well I have the solution to that problem!
The auto harvesting cactus pit!

Simply place a bucket of water where indicated and watch as all of the Cacti harvest themselves. This eliminates the problem of cactus destroying the harvested bits and allows for a quicker harvest by using torches and falling sand.
