I'm gonna gift you a free copy of any game under 5 euros on Steam if you can tell me how to make a server so I can play with a friend of mine. I am running Windows 7
Download and set up the server host program, open the ports, tell your friend to open the ports, give him the ip, let him connect, done?
At least I think that is how you do it.

I tried this, it didn't work even with the ports open. Do you think I can make anything happen using Hamachi? If so please try to explain
Hamachi shoudl work, but only people using hamachi will join you.
If you do use router connection, not a straight one, then you need to use VPS programms like Hamachi and Tunngle or it won't work. To make forwardign ports easier you can use
www.portforward.com
If you just want to play with your friend, use Hamachi, make a server, tell your friend the ip.
And which IP is it I need to find?
Essentially to host a server, all you need to do is find the port its using, and makke sure your router/firewall allows connections to that port via port forwarding or whatever your particular hardware calls it.
From there you provide the proper IP of your server(or computer in this case) with the port number. I.E "64.158.98.23:8890" - Thats just a simple example IP, connects to nothing, but thats the IP you should be providing to your friend.
Now if you do this via hamachi, you would not provide your computers IP, but generally the hamachi IP, it should start with a 5. Its generally pretty simple. Add me on steam or something and I'll try and walk you through it once I get off work.
gah i'm confused.
the best way to make a good looking house is by using bricks n wood, but not cobblestone or smooth stone. BUT WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO WITH ALL THAT COBBLESTONE?
I just lost a 11x11 filled cube of TNT to redstone being a dick to me. I still can't figure out how on earth to make those torches turn off when I turn a switch off.
Then again I probably edited the wrong torch into my inventory. Worth it though, that explosive was awesome.
gah i'm confused.

Smooth stone makes for a new-ish looking temple, while cobblestone and mossy cobblestone makes it look like an ancient temple.

I use it for bridge supports, or supporting features of a building. Granted, in minecraft, you don't really need supports, the cobble stone looks more natural for small bridges, or for a chimmney to a house. It also works good in combination with other materials.
Try using cobble stone for the first couple layers of a home, then finishing with brick or wood. Looks like the house has a foundation.
Addtionally, mossy cobblestone and regular work fantasticaly with water in my opinion. Making a dock with cobble stone, and mossy cobble stone on the ground works well.
Other than that, makes for a super cheap building material for making marker towers, essentially a large tower full of lava that marks a path.
So, I got the dungeon save Rowtree uploaded on his stream, made a pit for skeletons to drop into so there is no limit to the number, and waited for about half an hour.

After I made the cartographer map I noticed that it isn't an island far far away, I am definitely going to back and make a circle house inside the circle cave on the second last screenshot.
Edit: I screwed up all the screenshots, damnit.

Seriously, it was 1 sand block. :smithicide:
Hey guys, do you think the default crosshair is fine enough, or do you think that it should be changed. If so, please tell me how you would want it to look like.

---
NOW WORKING: Buckets!
- you have to right-click the ground under them or they don't remove properly
- you can destroy half-water tiles with them
NERFED: Summoning
- /iron and /wood are wiped from existence in favor of /lighter!
NERFED: Flint and Steel!
- Griefers begone, fire is no longer your friend! The flint and steel can only be used to fix furnaces now.
NERFED: TNT!
- While it can still explode and hurt the person using it, the blocks are not destroyed serverside and will pop back to their unharmed shape shortly after detonation.
- You can also remove TNT blocks with the lighter.
NERFED: Lava!
- Lava can no longer set fires, and cannot spread over any surface other than smooth stone. This means no more griefers can pour lava on your mountain (unless of course it's a stone mountain) but underground lava flows are still in and as awesome as ever!
NERFED: Admincrete!
- Adminium can now be instantly removed with a single use of flint and steel (aka lighter).
- Mob spawners can also be destroyed instantly in this way.
NEW CHAT FEATURE: Player List!
- Use /playerlist to list all players on the server, using the proper name color.
NEW CHAT FEATURE: Colored Names!
- Tired of straining your eyes over a long list of white text? People's names are now colored to avoid confusion. You can change your color using the /color command.
Oh... Any inventory editors that will give me non pig mob spawners?

Impulsed to make a tnt war server....
I dont think there are certain spawners.
I think ts just a mob spawner, and it depends at its position.
Anyway, loleditor is nice, nothing big, fast and easy use.
Look up at the modding/mapping section in minecraftforums.

How do I open the ports? I can't find the way to do it :frown:
After a couple hours exploring, I managed to find a Zombie Spawner and mined out around it, turning the surrounding area into my first successful farm. Now I'm just sitting here collecting feathers. :buddy:
