It looks like he's having a memory problem. He needs to make a .bat file like some of the rest of us have done to increase the RAM limit on the server. I'll try to give instructions in a minute.

1.) You'll need the Minecraft.jar from here: [URL]http://www.minecraft.net/download/minecraft_server.jar?v=1285895699863[/URL]
2.) Place that in the same folder as your server.
3.) Then make a file named somthing like server.bat (name does not matter, just needs the .bat extension.)
4.) Within that file you need to write the following [code]java -Xms1024M -Xmx3072M -jar minecraft_server.jar[/code]
5.) Then place that file within your server folder as well and run it AFTER you start the server.

There's still many issues, regardless of language.
Chunk heights would have to be cut down to 16 for it to stream smoothly, otherwise you're just going to see huge pieces of level pop in. That right there is a problem because if you make chunk heights 16 from 128 then you're increasing draw calls by 8 for every 16*128*16 slice (assuming you would have 8 vertical chunks in view) There's already 1024 draw calls for level, multiply that by 8 and you get an unplayable game.
I'm yet to think of any more issues but there will be alot more.

I drew this last night while putting off an essay. The scan overexposed alot of the fainter lines in the shading and the top right. It's supposed to be a cave of some kind. I don't draw usually at all, so it's rough.
