Minecraft Thread v39 - Games

I love Notch as much as the next guy, and I know he is starting up a company, but I feel like he should have worked harder to get a more concrete version out before the updates were "halted" so to speak. I haven't played in a while and I know I will once more content comes out to start me going again. The game is great right now but once mobs work right and stuff is more stable it will be amazing.

It's official - Today's update gave chickens the explosive properties of TNT.

I got royally lost when exploring beyond my 'island world' Before: [img_thumb]http://cubeupload.com/files/ae5a1carto1.jpg[/img_thumb] After: [img_thumb]http://cubeupload.com/files/ff17bacarto2.jpg[/img_thumb] The save went from 20 to 60mb. The island was all generated before reeds, cacti and clay was added, so I came back to my castle after about an ingame week of exploration in a boat, full of spoils and specimens like motherfucking Captain Cook.

Has anyone tried the 3D function on Minecraft? I ordered a pair of red/cyan and it's on its way to me.

Does anyone think there will be an update today? A small one perhaps? I need something new beacause i wanna play but i can't get myself to start the game :(

Am i the only one who is glad Notch didnt release an update? Given the last few which introduced elements which caused massive graphical issues and proved how poorly he was prepared for fame. He needs to sit down, and actually spend time on an update. Nto just force something out for the masses on a friday. Just sit and wait. Good things take time.

Only issues I know of were the server issues and yeah, he wasn't prepared for that. Yet it had nothing to do with the quality of the update. Sitting down and forcing something out worked for the last 10 weeks.

Or how it caused somepeoples cards to be stuck in a grey screen mode. That was a pure quality update. That forced out update which added absolutly nothing to the game. Seriously, update where he adds items that are useless is kinda retarded. We have eggs, milk, fishing rods, and slime balls. We cant do a damn thing with any of them, so why do we need an update adding more items that have no purpose?

He works on the actually patching stuff whenever he has the chance. You've become spoilt! Now stop bitching and let Notch do his thing. (This applies to all whiners!)

anyone have tips for finding your old mine? or any way to set your spawn right on top of your mine?

Could someone tell me how the servers are before I buy this game. Is it like 50% RP/Survival and 50% build huge shit?

I'd enjoy customizable difficult. You know, what mobs spawn, how many, their power. I would choose - Lots of very slow but very defensed zombies.

How could one be so silly. May not be a full game, doesnt mean that he doesn't need to do some bug testing before releasing an update. If this was any other developer who had this issue, you'd be jumping down their throats. I want better updates. I dont want half assed code done during his lunch. I want a quality patch that isn't full of bugs, and glitches. I will gladly wait months for a patch thats actually full of content and fixes. I will wait with a smile on my face. Secret friday updates are supposed to be fun, sure. But when the secret is "You dont get to play, enjoy this grey screen" Im less then enthralled with that kind of update. Just because hes a good develoepr doesn't mean there arent flaws to be pointed out. Apparently disagreeing with the bandwagon gets me boxes.

Notch lets the customers bugtest, he never thought he'd get so many of them. Also, I have a feeling he'll be able to get a bit more bugtesting done when he gets the company set up.

(correct me I'm wrong.) Also, you will rarely find a developer testing their own game fully, its much better to get other people to report back to you.

This was patched within a day, along with a fix to leaf despawning for the bigger trees that were also added in that update.
